sabres1970 Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 Maybe being down will actually help us, get us desperate and firing in the second. Besides our second period usually sucks anyway,
ofiba Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 The Flyers came out really hard. Shame on a stupid goal a the end, but being outshot 14-2 or something and bad things will happen. I knew something bad was going to happen when the faceoff kept going back to Miller. Did anyone notice how Briere got kicked out of the first draw and then on the faceoff before the goal the Philly guy looked like he intentionally got kicked out so Briere could come in. It's like they knew the first guy gets kicked out so they threw someone else in there first.
DR HOLLIDAY Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 To block it like any normal playoff veteran would. Miller needed to have his legs closed though. That shouldn't have gone in ever. I hear you, but Miller was drifting to his right to make the save and control the puck........Mike did not have to do that.
Claude_Verret Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 Miller only sabre that showed up for the 1st period. WTF????!!! It's game fargin 7 boys!!!
Kristian Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 16-2 in shots because Buffalo can't get around that fore check! LET'S GO BUFFALO!!!!!!! Because the coach is happy watching the forecheck, apparently. Seriously, we do the SAME things for 7 games straight, and they do the SAME things for 7 games straight. Are you kidding me??? No adjustments to the breakout plays?
drnkirishone Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 how did that saying go my coaches use to use...... if your gonna play goalie and block the shot you better get all of it or the goal againest is your fault
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 Well i do not think we could have played an worse n lucky its not 3 to 0. Two freaking shots
ofiba Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 I actually appreciate them coming out like dogs. Now they can either pleasantly surprise us or we lose a game we deserve to lose. Way better than taking a 3-0 lead and then coughing it up.
Assquatch Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 Honestly I don't see how it could get worse. Only way it could have been worse is if LaLame had been in net. Lindy is throwing anything he can pick up right now. Gerbe, Ennis, and Roy better hide.
Raelity Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 Did you have to? I f'd up and feel terrible. I left the room w the TV w like 25 sec's to go, and came in to the other room to post and give Miller credit for surviving that onslaught. That's what I get for not watching it click down to zero. Won't happen again.
DR HOLLIDAY Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 how did that saying go my coaches use to use...... if your gonna play goalie and block the shot you better get all of it or the goal againest is your fault I bet you Grier makes up for it, I have a lot of respect for him........
Realist Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 Even if that goal was not deflected I wouldn't be upset with Miller, he's the reason it's only 1 -0 and not 5-0.

X. Benedict Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 Brutal period. It should be 4-0 Flyers.
Claude_Verret Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 That was the worst period of hockey that I've seen from the Sabres in months. It should have been much much worse.
Buffalo Wings Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 My faith tank is empty My emotional tank is empty already. Still 40 minutes to go.
LabattBlue Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 That was a performance comparable of an NHL club(Flyers) vs an AHL club(with Miller in net). Just embarassing. I know there are two periods to go, but they were so lost for the entire period, that it is hard to believe they can turn it around.
inkman Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 I f'd up and feel terrible. I'm guessing not as bad as Grier feels...
Wyldnwoody44 Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 My emotional tank is empty already. Still 40 minutes to go. Here's to the alcohol refueling us : ) the fat lady sang at the beginning, but she is a.flyers.fan

Way better than taking a 3-0 lead and then coughing it up. Maybe the Flyers tired themselves out. Seriously, you knew they'd come out like rabid dogs, but I thought it was going to subside about 10 minutes in. Sabres need to figure out how to beat the forecheck.
will Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 bright side...since there's no way to play worse, we're at least going to see two better periods. but will they be good enough?
Dave Dryden Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 It's been a good run. They will truly have to surprise me to win this game.
