Alaska Darin Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 I'm not surprised, to be honest. Sens are at home and they should have come out with some fire. We've got to weather this storm and work harder. We need a break to swing momentum.
Corp000085 Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 We need a break to swing momentum. no doubt... now its 2-0. these g uys are not the bruins. the sabres need a goal now
Twisted Wrister Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 7:00 left in the first and......YICK
jayg Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Wow, Sens look like they did earlier in the year. Sabres look like a farm team compared to them now. Hope we can come back from this 2 goal deficit, but I'm not holding my breath.
Goodfella25 Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Well, let the penalty parade begin......why dont they just play the entire game on special teams
Twisted Wrister Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Does anyone think those comments made by Boynton after the Bruins game has really hurt the Sabres with getting Calls.....it seems like lately we've been getting the short end of calls
hopeleslyobvious Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Am I biased or are the penalties a bit inconsistent. Roy gets tripped up, and is on the ice with the stick between his legs, no call. Briere hooks Chara a little bit, penalty. I am biased though, so anyone else seeing this?

But they are still inconsistent, I mean with the scrum earlier...Eaves started it and somehow he gets away without a penalty???
Knightrider Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 If we don't resign McKee this offseason I'm going to lose it. McKee will probaly take care of his own resignation... Wow. 22 shots? not good...
Corp000085 Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 ok end of the first. only positive is that the sabres had a few chances in the last minute of the period. all it takes is one shot, early...

I think they called that because he held him up along the boards too...That's just my guess.
bob_sauve28 Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Oh boy, that was ugly! I hope the come back kids have it in them tonight
hopeleslyobvious Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Oh boy, that was ugly! I hope the come back kids have it in them tonight Well at least Miller showed up to play.
Alaska Darin Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Roy is going to draw some calls but he does give up his feet pretty easily and the referees know it. Poor first period. Being outshot 22-5 is ridiculous and it's mostly undisciplined play.
bob_sauve28 Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Well at least Miller showed up to play. True, it would be 5-0 if it wasn't for him
Rabbit151 Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Wow. They could have had the Cirque de Soleil playing in the Ottawa end of the ice to entertain the fans in that end of the arena and the Sabres wouldn't have disrupted the show one bit. The Sabres looked like men against boys out there. Are they over-matched against a Sens team that is taking them very seriously, or are the Sabres playing scared? Either way, let's hope a good old fashioned beating is a learning experience for the team, and not a confidence destroyer.
bob_sauve28 Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 22 shots??? Jesus! Wow. They could have had the Cirque de Soleil playing in the Ottawa end of the ice to entertain the fans in that end of the arena and the Sabres wouldn't have disrupted the show one bit. Goodfella25 Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 One of the reasons we have so many shots against us is our defense keeps getting caught pinching and Ottawa in turn keeps getting odd man rushes....funny that our defense keeps getting caught pinching considering we had 5 shots on goal...it's obviously not helping Ruff will be giving everyone a good talkin to. I guarentee we get it together in this game, we come alive in the 2nd and 3rd periods
hopeleslyobvious Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Looking at the PP at the end of the period, I would start with Roy Max and Vanek.
Corp000085 Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 the sabres are starting to show up in the 2nd. this potential comeback will be a marathon, not a sprint.
Rock DJ Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 It wasn't all defense pinching, it was mostly Ottawa out skating us. The 2nd goal started with Briere waiting for the puck to come to him instead of going to get it. "Waiting" for it will just not work.
Stoner Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Early selfish penalty on Chris Drury for slashing kind of set the tone for this one. Too bad. Goodfella, yeah they typically come alive in the second and third period, but how will they play in the playoffs? Maybe this IS a new NHL, but historically comebacks are pretty rare in the postseason. Plenty of time left... if they come back from THIS 2-0 deficit on the road, I will be impressed. :)
Corp000085 Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 3-0... potential comeback over. this game is a wakeup call for the sabres. they came in wearing their loafers. time for them to regroup and come out with their work boots.
