Is this a theory, or do you know this to be the case?

Can a mod confirm whether he was banned? If so, what did he do to get banned?

I saw him listed as online at the bottom of the Aud Club a couple days ago. I call BS. You can change your settings to prevent PMs. It's in the setting tab in your profile.

He said something along those lines...and he's said it before. The NHL needs to eliminate the 100 or so hits that cause concussions, so they probably have to make it so that 500 or 1000 tough hits are elimintaed, but there would still be 90% of the hits allowed.

Welcome to the WNBA!

I think that was Pegula, wasn't it?

What was said is that there are 52,000 hits in the NHL a year, and about 100 cause concussions.

He was speculating on the need to get rid of those 100 hits if that means only 51,000 NHL hits a year.

He was thinking out loud.

There were allusions to bans weeks ago. I tried to contact him and he responded saying he was banned and does not wish to post even though the ban was lifted. This was confirmed. I can't really comment because I did not see the context which led to the ban so it wouldn't be fair of me to call BS or not.

No it was Darcy, because he gave the same Excel spreadsheet breakdown a month ago. He said the league would need to cut 5-10% of the hits to get the dangerous ones out of the game, but the NHL could still be physical. This was well thought out by him.

Maybe next he will crusade for broomball given Pominville was sliced by a skate.

Getting an answer from the mods on the PA issue is like getting an injury report from Lindy.

Is this really something they should answer if PA himself won't put the answer out there?

I just checked PA's profile. PA's group is listed as "validating" not as "member" so he may not be able to post yet. He is listed as last being online on 4/26.

Looks to me like the ban isn't fully lifted yet.

He suggested a higher up should get a "lower body injury" multiple times. He can post if he wants.

How 'bout that Lindy?

Nicely played.

What stage of the process of becoming a valid member is "validating"?

The answer to the various queries are as follows:

No, he was not banned. He was given a short suspension that ended on 4/18. He has chosen not to come back at this time. The details are unimportant, but suffice to say he shown an affinity for pushing people, but apparently doesn't like it when they finally decide to push back.

He is "validating" because he changed his email address to express his apparent new love for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Unfortunately, since he most likely doesn't own that address - he is unable to complete the email change verification process. Therefore, people are unable to PM or email him, as he forfeited his status as a fully registered member by supplying a bogus email address and pushing his account into the validation state.

The opinion was unanimous that he stepped over the line, more than once, and that the short suspension was warranted. He is free to come back at any time, although it would take my intervention to re-instate his account, which I am more than willing to oblige.

That sounds like a poison pill. PA, it was good to get to know you for a few months.

What does? Changing your email address?

Changing it to something you can't use to validate your account sounds like he doesn't want to validate his account.

Or it could just be him being obstinate. :bag:

I would say it is an unintended consequence of removing contact info.

Nice game you're playing, stopping at 11 years. Why not look at Ruff's entire Sabres tenure? It's only another two years. Oh look, he won 9 series in 13 years. And the Flyers? They won 10 series in the same span. How about that.

One more thing: Lindy is 3-2 in playoff series vs the Flyers as Sabres head coach.

PTR

Nice!
