Dkaye179 Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 Lindy Ruff calls Flyers whiners Tomorrow could get real nasty.
Weave Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 Gamesmanship. Too much at stake for it to get any nastier than last night. Noone wants to be the guy in the box when the game winning goal is scored. I really think the fans get more out of this sort of thing than the players do.
Buffalo Wings Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 Lindy Ruff calls Flyers whiners Tomorrow could get real nasty. I love it...tell us how you really feel, Lindy. :clapping:
OverPowerYou Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 "They're really doing a lot of whining. I didn't hear any whining when they had 10 power plays in Philly and I didn't hear any whining when the power plays in the first game were lopsided," Ruff said. "But all of a sudden, there's all this whining about, we're getting away with murder?" Sounds like what everyone here has been saying since game 1. Way to go, Ruff.
mikegrier Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 I love how Richard's says we're getting away with murder and how they have done a great job of "walking away from their [the sabres] B.S.". Yet never mentions the spear to Gerbe's sac by Timonen. That's busch league. I really think he's just crying so the officials will go lightly on them the rest of the series. If they can't handle the scrums that playoffs entail then why are they suiting up every night? Go home, go golf.

biodork Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 Or how about the sabre who was crosschecked into the crossbar face first. Yeah, seriously... I think that was MAG if I'm remembering correctly.
OverPowerYou Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 Yeah, seriously... I think that was MAG if I'm remembering correctly. Wasn't it Butler? Idk it has happened each game it seems like.
cdexchange Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 Yeah, seriously... I think that was MAG if I'm remembering correctly. It was definitely Butler. Ouch!
bunomatic Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 It was definitely Butler. Ouch! A play like that when the league is trying to get serious with hits to the head. I would consider that a hit to the head or intent to injure but no call. Heck, interference?
EZBills7 Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 WHINING! Isn't that Charlie Sheen's motto?
carpandean Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 Yeah, seriously... I think that was MAG if I'm remembering correctly. Wasn't it Butler? Idk it has happened each game it seems like. It was definitely Butler. Ouch! Hmmm ... I would actually bet money that it was MAG.
Miss_The_Amerks Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 WHINING! Isn't that Charlie Sheen's motto? I was going to say "#BIWHINING"
shrader Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 A play like that when the league is trying to get serious with hits to the head. I would consider that a hit to the head or intent to injure but no call. Heck, interference? They did make the call when MAG was put face first into the net.
wonderbread Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 Hmmm ... I would actually bet money that it was MAG. I'll take that bet. It was Van Rymsdyke that crosschecked Butler in the back then he went chin first into the crossbar.
carpandean Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 They did make the call when MAG was put face first into the net. Yeah, I can perfectly picture MAG looking up at the ref like "what was that?!" He hit the post on the goaltender's left more than the crossbar. Wasn't there a penalty called? I've looked back through the game recaps and haven't found a penalty (crosschecking or interference) drawn by Butler or Gragnani.

MattPie Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 I'll take that bet. It was Van Rymsdyke that crosschecked Butler in the back then he went chin first into the crossbar. I'll bet you two are talking about different plays.
BuffaTB Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 Yea grags face hit a post and butler's hit the crossbar, two different plays..
wjag Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 Hmmm ... I would actually bet money that it was MAG. That's because it happened to both of them in different games.
bunomatic Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 That's because it happened to both of them in different games. The play I was talking about our guy hit his face on the crossbar and his head raked back as he went under like a drunk limbo dancer. Could have been very ugly
dudacek Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 "They're hard on the right guys," Flyers forward Daniel Carcillo said after Game Four. "They haven't said boo to some of the other guys who they know will fight back." So since everybody saw them hard on Carcillo several times, does that mean he's calling himself one of the easy targets?
