ricos army Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 For anyone attending game 5 in Philly. Where is a good place for Sabre fans to meet? How cool would it be to infiltrate a bar with blue and gold before the game.
stepped IN zhitnik Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 goto chickie and petes, and may god have mercy on your soul
apuszczalowski Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 the closest Hospital might be a good meeting place after the game. The fans are already pissed off that the refs are against the Cryers, and when they get beaten in Game 5, they may not take too kindly to a good old "Rape and Pileage Baby Eating" from the Sabres fans. Although Philly fans have been know in the past for being very kind and courteous fans when it comes to their teams
Robviously Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 For anyone attending game 5 in Philly. Where is a good place for Sabre fans to meet? The best place? Buffalo. The worst place? Probably Philadelphia. Good luck.
ricos army Posted April 21, 2011 Author Report Posted April 21, 2011 Thanks for the advice. As there is safety in numbers, was hoping to hook up with other Sabre fans. I know we'll take a lot of verbal crap, and maybe an occasional beer shower. I'll trade the beer dousing for a Sabre win any day!
apuszczalowski Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 The best place? Buffalo. The worst place? Probably Philadelphia. Good luck. Thats true, Carolina fans probably hate Sabres fans more, but they aren't the type to do anything to them, besides speed away in their Nascar and honking their "General Lee" Horns Only place worse in sports i think to go in as an aways team fan would probably be Oakland to a Raiders game.
SabresMojo Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Best of luck in Philly... Hope you dont get hurt too bad after we whoop them!

Captain Caveman Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 I'm going too, planning on tailgating before the game, but not quite sure where yet. A friend of mine is meeting me there with some Philly fans, hoping if I bribe them with some good tailgate food they'll protect me. I'm also not planning on wearing a jersey.
ricos army Posted April 21, 2011 Author Report Posted April 21, 2011 Where are your seats? section 223

Captain Caveman Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Wuss j/k It's ok. I'd rather be a live wuss than a dead duck.
BorgStanley Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 I am going to game 5 as well. A buddy and I are sitting in section 217. I definitely want to roll in and out of the stadium with a crew - we should really make this happen. It would be great on many levels to meet somewhere before the game. And I AM wearing my jersey, maybe. I didn't see any solid Buffalo bar leads on the interwebs but I'd be down for anything...
ricos army Posted April 21, 2011 Author Report Posted April 21, 2011 We're wearing jerseys. Real men don't wear orange. We also cheer for our team, but don't take it to the obnoxious level. I was at a playoff game at HSBC against Ottawa, when an obnoxious Sens fan paraded a tin foil cup up and down the aisle after a goal. The first time fans laughed him off. The second time, it was a beer shower. The third time the cup went flying 10' in the air, and he was sent tumbling down the stairs after it.
UncleWally Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 section 223 I'm in 124 and nervous, very nervous.
ricos army Posted April 21, 2011 Author Report Posted April 21, 2011 Well I guess we'll try chickie and petes to start with, then may try some dive bars close to the arena. I'm thinking I might wear a terrell owens bills jersey (I know how much Philly loves him), so if you see me stop by say hi, and I'll buy you a beer.

mediumishot Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 I was there for game two..good luck and hope you don't have to go in the bathroom

This is SO true, although I've never been to Philly to compare... Was at a Bills / Raiders game in LA Coliseum (when Raiders were down here, in LA, where I live) in the 90's, in a row of a whole slew of us in red, white & blue, and there was frontal face-to-face confrontations (and later we came to find out that that "clicking" sound we heard was a switch-blade being flicked behind my buddy's back). And no, we were NOT confrontational, just cheering on our team... (we made it out alive, in game the Bill's won in OT, the year after they had trounced LA in AFC Championship game 51-3..., that game & interactions with Raiders fans, pro & con, was QUITE a memory) As always... GO SABRES!! (Bring it home in Philly!!)
UncleWally Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 I was there for game two..good luck and hope you don't have to go in the bathroom I was there for 1 & 2 wearing Blue & Gold w/no problems other than boo's. Now tomorrow, I think I'll reevaluate that decision.

Been to Oakland for a Bills game with my brother that is a raider fan and i have to say [ its the wild wild west for sure ]
Ogie Oglethorpe Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 section 223 Going with a buddy. We'll be in section 222A. I'll be in a blue Miller jersey. I think he'll be wearing a LaFontaine jersey.

From what I can remember 222A is a family friendly section. So be careful who you rape and pillage from. :pirate: edit: Actually I just glanced at Stub Hub. :)
Captain Caveman Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 Made it back safe and sound. Wore a Sabres Tshirt, only threatened a few times, they're not so tough.
