bob_sauve28 Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Good and bad here. This is reminding me of the Boston series in early 90's we lost in game 7, the Jersery series we lost after Hannan scored in game six ot and the Boston series in '83. Was the Derek Plante goal in ot the only game seven Sabres ever won?
Taro T Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 You sure you aren't thinking of '83 on the Boston series?
Kristian Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Not a very long series, and hardly a classic either, but I can't help but think of when they pummeled the Leafs in the 99 ECF. Geoff Sanderson's one-handed goal, and Mike Peca leveling Tie Domi right out of the box - Priceless.
eball Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 My favorite Sabres series has to be the four-game sweep of Boston in '93 that ended a long drought of playoff futility. Not only were the games exciting, we saw one of the most memorable finishes to a game and series in NHL history, as well as the "debut" of the Dominator as a Sabre.

Three of the four games against the Bruins went to OT, if I remember right. My personal favorites: 1983 vs. Montreal (Sauve shuts out MTL twice on the road) 1993 vs. Boston 2001 vs. Philadelphia (4 one-goal games, and the 8-0 series clincher) 2006 vs. Philadelphia (two blowout wins, including the clincher) 2006 vs. Ottawa (3 OT wins)

I still get chills just thinking of the game.
Buffalo Wings Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 2007 vs Rangers, most notably game 6. I still get chills just thinking of the game. I'll go out on a limb and say you really mean Game 5 (Drury with 7.7 left, Max in OT). The entire 2006 run was my favorite...Dumont's OT winner in Game 3 against Ottawa, Campbell making mince meat of Umberger, Briere's double-OT winner in the same game, the 13 goals in Game 1 vs Ottawa, Pominville's short-handed OT winner in Game 5 vs Ottawa....good times. :worthy:
bob_sauve28 Posted April 21, 2011 Author Report Posted April 21, 2011 You sure you aren't thinking of '83 on the Boston series? No, I was thinking of the one with LaFontain, but now that I remember it that game seven ended in regulation, Adam Oats scored off a face off in ot but that wasn't game seven. That was a great series though

Especially the first one there! The Boston series after that Montreal one was pretty special, too. This series has the making of one of the most memorable, that save on Briere was an all time memory for sure.
