I'm just surprised that there hasn't been any love for Weber. He played an amazing game and was in the middle of every physical altercation. He got the better of every one and I think was a big factor in tonights win.

Could it be that he is falling into that solid every night category and fans expect this kind of play every night?

In some cases that maybe correct, I don't think in all. The Flyers know what they get in Boucher and I think his style of goaltending helps their transition game. Is he in control of every rebound, of course not, if he could do that he would be a wealthier man. I do think that on some of the bigger rebounds that happened to go right to a Flyers player that those where intentional.

Fair enough. I think some were intentional too, but the contrast between him and Miller was striking tonight. For the most part Ryan did a good job of not giving up rebounds or putting them off to the side.

I would agree with your statements. It seems like having a "soft" d are days of yesteryear. Weber, Butler, MAG, Myers all brought it tonight. Leopold was far better this game and Montador was invisible, which is far better than having 8000 negative plays per game, like he has been having.

Some of us were loving up Weber earlier in the thread.

Good. While it does feel like Myers became a man tonight, Weber's game really gets me all tingly in the naughty bits.

Absolutely the case--- not that he's Lidstrom or anything, but the expectation for nightly quality performance (particularly physically) is a given, as far as I'm concerned. He's a tough dude, and he makes smart plays with the puck.

I've probably been the biggest Weber supporter all year long going back to when everyone wanted him off the team after he had a bad giveaway that cost us a game against Boston.

The guy is outstanding. This is the defenseman we've been waiting for.

He's a jerk out there and that's what we want. No hesitation to put a glove in someone's face after the whistle and tough enough to back it up.

Montador wasn't so invisible to start the game, if I remember correctly.

I can't believe how poorly he's played thus far in this series. He really has sucked, bad. Hope he can turn it around going forward, but I don't think he has it in him.

PLEASE in the name of all that's holy to hockey tell me WHY oh WHY does this team employ this defensive B.S. in the last half of the final period???? WHY????? I've began calling it the LINDY LIMBO!!!!!

Call it whatever you want, it wins them hockey games.

Weber is reminding me more and more of Brooks Orpik. He is going to be real difficult to play against next season. he's coming into his own, just like Myers.

Miller was huge tonight. Nice!

Love to see Myers getting tough out there.

It wasn't a pretty third (that's all I saw) but we got the win and that is all that matters.

Nice to see us not backing down against the Flyers.

Best of 3.

I like our chances!

Amazingly, I just said the SAME THING to my son ten minutes ago in our post game long distance call!

Very insightful!

I have a friend who grew up next door to me as a kid, we played hockey together, and of course...he is a Flyer fan. On Facebook after the game, he posts "Hate to say it, but that's why people don't like the NHL. If you don't make any attempt to posses the puck for 16 minutes, you shouldn't win. Sabers might get lucky enough to win a few like that, but they sure as hell can't win the cup. Get em next time boys."

My response was simple. If you have the puck for 16 straight minutes, and can't score, you don't deserve to win.

Loved the play by Ennis in the 3rd but that HAS to be roofed. That was goal of the year material if he just got it up.

If Niedermayer had difficulty getting it up, I'd understand, due to his age. But Ennis is a young dude, and shouldn't need coaxing.

Just got home from the game...

1st 15 minutes...GREAT

2nd period...SLEEPER

3rd period...5 minutes of PP time that was as bad as it gets(they deserved the booing and then some), followed by 15 minutes of chasing the Flyers around. This was not a case of "kitty bar the door". It was horrible play. Miller bailed them out.

Still waiting for their best game.

PS The crowd excitement level was very good.

GO SABRES!!!!!

"I'm not going to pay too much attention to anybody who's talking about my game right now, I really don't care

It's the furthest thing from my mind (except I'm going to talk about it with rage-eyes)

I want to contribute and help the guys

I have to do certain things, I have to talk on the ice, I have to help them with the puck in the zone

I don't need to listen to all the B.S. that's out there from people who don't know how to play goalie

I really don't give a EXPLETIVE so suck it"

wait did he really say suck it cuz i missed that part but I LOVE YOU RYAN!

No I added that I thought it would be obvious but I'll edit it since people seem unsure.

Looked like the puck was at the toe of his stick and he couldn't generate much elevation. 4 inches higher and that was in.
