... Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 I think the paddle save in the third was the only "quality look" that I saw this game from Philly. Did I miss any?
Tyrannustyrannus Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 A win is a win. Can't turn that down. As somebody else mentioned before though, I was not a big fan of the line combinations. I couldn't understand Vanek with Gaustad and Kaleta. Niether one of them is going to be able to play to Vanek's skills
TheMatrix31 Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 14 left, remember that folks, 14 To be honest, I'm only focused on winning the next one.
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 we MUST get better on the powerplay
deluca67 Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Labialips doesn't think the elbow showed any intent. Surprise, surprise. Neither did Paul Hamilton, he said so during the intermission. Thought it was worth two minutes at best.
EZBills7 Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 There were some absolutely huge rebounds off Boucher tonight and I don't recall seeing a Sabre get to a single one of them. True, but that's part of my point. If you consistently cough up the puck in high volume scoring areas, you're going to get burned.
LGR4GM Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 I think the paddle save in the third was the only "quality look" that I saw this game from Philly. Did I miss any? that was sarcastic right?
... Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 that was sarcastic right? There was a post in the first, but no gaping, wide-open nets for the Flyers to shoot at.
deluca67 Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 True, but that's part of my point. If you consistently cough up the puck in high volume scoring areas, you're going to get burned. Sometimes it is by design. Kick the puck to an area where your guys can get first.
deluca67 Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 There was a post in the first, but no gaping, wide-open nets for the Flyers to shoot at. The two Myers and Butler stopped where certain goals.
Robviously Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 I couldn't understand Vanek with Gaustad and Kaleta. Niether one of them is going to be able to play to Vanek's skills I hated that line as soon as I saw it out there. Hope we don't stick with that for Game 5, and we shouldn't because this game left a lot of room for improvement offensively. I'm really hoping Roy can come back on Friday.
LGR4GM Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 There was a post in the first, but no gaping, wide-open nets for the Flyers to shoot at. there were about 3-4 point blank saves and of course the save on Briere... so i guess if you are only counting empty nets than ya only 1.
Richard Smehliks Ghost Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 "With four assists, Sabres D Marc-Andre Gragnani is the team's first rookie to have points in each of his first three career playoff games since Richard Smehlik in 1993." Looks like the kid is well on his way to becoming a fine comrade.
Robviously Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 The two Myers and Butler stopped where certain goals. True.
MichFan Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 There was a post in the first, but no gaping, wide-open nets for the Flyers to shoot at. Tyler Myers' save?
OverPowerYou Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 14 left, remember that folks, 14 French Connection...... 14.....7......11... Why do I mention this? As Sabres fans we're superstitious. So obviously 14 will bring good luck.
EZBills7 Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Sometimes it is by design. Kick the puck to an area where your guys can get first. That's a fair point in general, but are you saying that, watching Boucher tonight, you were thinking he was putting the puck in those spots because he knew/thought each time his guys would get there first? I was thinking that he's just worrying about making the initial save and isn't concerned about where the rebounds are going.
nobody Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 I couldn't understand Vanek with Gaustad and Kaleta. Niether one of them is going to be able to play to Vanek's skills Neither can Connolly. :)

Assquatch Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 if someone can post ryan millers post game interview because it was awesome! Ryan Miller postgame: "I'm not going to pay too much attention to anybody who's talking about my game right now, I really don't care It's the furthest thing from my mind (except I'm going to talk about it with rage-eyes) I want to contribute and help the guys I have to do certain things, I have to talk on the ice, I have to help them with the puck in the zone I don't need to listen to all the B.S. that's out there from people who don't know how to play goalie I really don't give a EXPLETIVE (so suck it)" Edit: Miller didn't really say what's in parentheses
SwampD Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 I'm just surprised that there hasn't been any love for Weber. He played an amazing game and was in the middle of every physical altercation. He got the better of every one and I think was a big factor in tonights win.
... Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 The two Myers and Butler stopped where certain goals. Must have happened near the end of the first - I had to step away from the TV.

I was thinking that he's just worrying about making the initial save and isn't concerned about where the rebounds are going. In some cases that maybe correct, I don't think in all. The Flyers know what they get in Boucher and I think his style of goaltending helps their transition game. Is he in control of every rebound, of course not, if he could do that he would be a wealthier man. I do think that on some of the bigger rebounds that happened to go right to a Flyers player that those where intentional.
