Stormin Norman Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 You know, I'll take the call because I don't care what it takes for the Sabres to win. A purely selfish thought, of course. But if the five minutes was called on a Sabre, I'd be ballistic right now. I don't know. I actually preferred the moments in period two where the officials put their whistles away. Some of these calls both ways are just ticky tacky.
nobody Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 I can't imagine watching 5 minutes of this powerplay :wallbash: My guess is the refs will even it up at some point so they won't suffer the wrath of Ed Snider. Too bad we'll have to see Lindy play Connolly for the entire 5 minutes.
Simon Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Richards going to get a game for that? Kunitz just did in the Pitt/TB series. If they're serious about concussions, they sure have to consider it.
johnnychemo Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Now now - the NHL is much more advanced then that. What do you think they do with that draft lottery machine for the rest of the year? They put all the penalties in it and whichever 5 come out first get called for that day. It's this type of insider insight that keeps me coming back to this board!:clapping:
darksabre Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 The one thing that worries me in this game, is how long before our puck luck runs out? This game could be a completely different score right now save for pucks missing by a few inches and Miller having an angel on his shoulder. We really need to play a solid 3rd.
LGR4GM Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Funny how they are trying to explain the 'self-defense' angle lol in that case anytime someone is about to hit you, you might as well baseball swing them across the face with your stick... Right call. I am sorry I would be upset if Kaleta had done it but after seeing 5 replays it was dead on balls accurate. This could be the series... LETS GO BUFFALO!!!
nobody Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Read the rulebook, intentional hits to the head our a 5minute major and he thew his elbow out there you could see it on the replay, that was actually the correct call and I am surprised they gave him 5 not 2 but if kaleta did that to richards it would be 5 as well so correct call glad it helps us. Kaleta also would have been given a game misconduct.
johnnychemo Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 See that? Now that's an assist! I got your back!!

Same could be said about our two goalposts...

This game could be a completely different score right now save for pucks missing by a few inches and Miller having an angel on his shoulder. We really need to play a solid 3rd. We've also rung a couple posts too and just missed some other good chances. They're playing as well as they have in this series and I think self-control has more to do with it than luck.
Assquatch Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Philly has 5 minutes to score a shorthanded goal
Derrico Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Wash just tied it up.. If it weren't for San Jose's comeback last night, I'd say this is unbelievable.
SwampD Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Dude, he was. :wallbash: Sorry, that wasn't a real response. It looked to me like he was push backwards and spun around to make it look like he was pushed into him.
Foligno's Nose Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Kerry Fraser says right call was made on TSN with Dreger. "turtles live longer" he says, echoing the Philly crew. Sabres have to capitalize with one or two on this PP. They have passed on gifts like this already tonight and in game three. Tie this series up gentlemen!!!
DumbPuck Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 If sabres score in the first two minutes does the full 5min pp go away?
DumbPuck Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Sorry, that wasn't a real response. It looked to me like he was push backwards and spun around to make it look like he was pushed into him. He was definitely pushed. /DVR Although Briere embelished a bit
bunomatic Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Philly has 5 minutes to score a shorthanded goal :clapping: Funny but God forbid.
johnnychemo Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 No, a major penalty goes for its full 5 mins.
DumbPuck Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 No, a major penalty goes for its full 5 mins. Thanks!
darksabre Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 If sabres score in the first two minutes does the full 5min pp go away? They MAY score as much as they want. Whether or not they CAN is another story.
Foligno's Nose Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Frasor says Richards had other options than to stick the elbow out. Also downplayed any factor Kaleta's reputation may have played in the situation.
Foligno's Nose Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Does he stil have PERFECT hair? of course
