calti Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Fat Lady is beginning to warm up.... we have less talent than the Flyers...so we need to play smarter than them-this was a dumbly played game. can't knock the effort level--but a lot of chaos and brain freeze out there.
Kristian Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Like I said, maybe this means Pegula's crush on Regier and the current roster will be over soon.
sabres1970 Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Don't want to hear excuses from anyone. We're not only worse than the Flyers but we played with little emotion and got our butts handed to us.
SabreInFla Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Next game is so critical, I don't know if I'll be able to watch Don't bother.
DR HOLLIDAY Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 We have to get back on track next game, stop the brutal give aways and we have a chance.
Robviously Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Like I said, maybe this means Pegula's crush on Regier and the current roster will be over soon. Good. Brad Boyes is starting to make me wish we had a 2nd round pick this June.
dEnnis the Menace Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 I hate to say it, but Hecht needs to come back: Vanek-TC-Pom ENNIS-HECHT-BOYES (was line where Boyes produced) Mancari-Goose-Gerbe (this line produces...) Grier-Cody-Nieds He ll, sit TC and play kaleta...
Kristian Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Getting beat by a career backup. This is a recording.....
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 this team needs a transfusion of Gerbe blood best player on ice yet never seen on powerplay. And Leo was back but never on PP as well
Kristian Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 this team needs a transfusion of Gerbe blood best player on ice yet never seen on powerplay. And Leo was back but never on PP as well At least Timmy was outstanding.... Oh, wait......
Wyldnwoody44 Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 I just dont understand how we can have no CORE at all....I mean nothing!!!! Even bad teams seem to have one or two top guys in the playoffs; Maybe im wrong and just too pi$$ed right now; but thats how I see it
james duncan Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Like I said, maybe this means Pegula's crush on Regier and the current roster will be over soon. This is how I keep trying to cheer myself up. Seeing Regier's latest trade-day prize Boyes disappear at crunch-time and Briere continue to dominate should play a role in this.
ThePebble19 Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 This was an embarrassing loss...way to complacent, they looked lost for most if the game, and miller was just not good. He has to be better than this to win.
PlayoffReadyMatt Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Miller was left hanging out to dry on goal 2 and 3. Goal one was flukey all around. He needs to play unreal, but it is tough when he gets put in terrible positions. Weber was brutal tonight. Giveaways, poor clearances, dumb decisions. Connolly isn't adding a damn thing. Kaleta does not bring much to the team IMO, need to shuffle things up about, bring in Ellis, Hecht back, etc. Boucher was great tonight, we gotta play great defense to win this series. Dunno if we can.
nobody Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Lindy needs to get Vanek off of the line with Connolly. Boyes wants a center? Give him Timmy on the 4th line.
DumbPuck Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Lots of defensive mistakes One soft goal in on Miller Not enough effort out of Ennis GREAT effort out of Gerbe .... not enough ice time
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Lots of defensive mistakes One soft goal in on Miller Not enough effort out of Ennis GREAT effort out of Gerbe .... not enough ice time I thought Ennis had tons of effort but Neids as his center aint helping
PlayoffReadyMatt Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Lines definitely need to be reshuffled.
ThePebble19 Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Here's another thought on this game...and please don't take this as complaining about the refs, but their positioning was terrible tonight...there were at least 5 pucks prevented from leaving the zone or caught up in their feet tonight...no reason guys at that level should be in the way as much as they were.
Dave Dryden Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Lots of defensive mistakes One soft goal in on Miller Not enough effort out of Ennis GREAT effort out of Gerbe .... not enough ice time Which one do you think was soft?
SabresMojo Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Hilarious, they're down 2-1 and it's over?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8lT1o0sDwI&feature=related That just made my night. As for the series being over. We need to win on Wed or we're done.
darksabre Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Someone call the wizard of oz, this team needs a heart. They can show me fortitude on Wednesday by crushing the Flyers. For now though, I'm gonna go be depressed and do homework.
sabres1970 Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 The perfect mix of horrible mistakes and lack of effort that just makes games like this even worse. I just knew after that disgustingly bad third goal that this game was over. Gerbes goal was more of a feel good moment than an actual motivator. I'm sick and tired of having these freaking players like Connolly, Pominville, Myers (and in a lesser sense) Vanek who just don't show up in the clutch. That's what made 2006 and 2007 better because we had two guys we knew could get it done when we needed it. Oh, and yeah one of them is killing us on the other side.
PlayoffReadyMatt Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Here's another thought on this game...and please don't take this as complaining about the refs, but their positioning was terrible tonight...there were at least 5 pucks prevented from leaving the zone or caught up in their feet tonight...no reason guys at that level should be in the way as much as they were. Noticed that too.
SabresFan526 Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 So disappointing. The Sabres looked like they were going through the motions in the third period and seemed to play with no energy. I'm not sure why, they were only down a goal and had they gotten one, they're back in it. With Kaleta out and being down 2-1, I wonder where Derek Roy is in his prognosis. Perhaps centering the fourth line with McCormick and Grier? All I know is that Ennis looks invisible right now. Getting only one goal on the PP was just no enough. It's not just about getting a goal on the PP, but it's about getting it at the right time and key moments of the game. So Stafford scores a PP goal. That's great. But when you have a 4 minute PP with Hartnell in the box, you have to take advantage of it. When you have a 5-on-3, you have to take advantage of it. It's sad that after 4 years, this team still has no heart and no leadership. They've got the talent to play with a team like Philly. But mental mistakes by the young guys and really there's just not enough leadership on this team to get them through this. Niedermeyer and Grier are not the guys who can be leaders as they just don't have the skill to really get these guys to listen. It's sad, and I'm not sure how it changes by Game 4. Let's hope for the best and tie the series up on Wednesday.
