Roy's Return?

It was an ill-timed cheap shot, IMHO. He's out - you don't have to say anything.

It's a discussion board. Wouldn't this be the place to speak his mind?

Just sayin'...

And wouldn't it be the place for SDS to speak his?

Roy scores the game winning goal Tuesday night. I'd love to see it happen.

Yea , I must admit that sequence has been runnnig through my mind.

Same here. When I think of it, I envision him going around Pronger and scoring in overtime, pominvillesque (if you know what i mean)

Well, it'll have to be when we're short-handed because Pronger the Injured won't see action unless they're on the PP.

GO SABRES!!!

Absolutely. Just struck me as odd that the operator of a discussion board is suggesting limiting discourse when it wasn't trolling or anything.

Which is EXACTLY how Pommer did it. OP, I hope you're prescient.

This is a common theme for you. You are a staunch defender of the people's right to post. I find that refreshing and very empowering. Just out of curiosity, have you spent time in a Russian gulag or Chinese prison for agitating the masses?

Nope.

Then you wouldn't happen to be a prophet or oracle of some kind?

Hahaha the fact that I've heard the 8-0 Roysie hat trick theory twice tonight from two completely different sources is making it more and more likely in my mind.

Here's to a big win Tuesday

Pommer's goal was shorthanded in OT!

History will repeat itself.

People have been commenting how they have been glad Roy has been out. People have been commenting how it is good Pominville is out. I see no reason why people shouldn't be able to comment that they are happy Connolly is out.

Now I've been wanting Connolly to be benched or just to play the pk. But I would never wish injury on the guy.

True that.I'm glad Connolly got up after that cheap shot but im also glad he'll being sitting awhile. The more i watch his play, the more i understand why he hasnt scored a good in the playoffs in a million years B-)

Timmy should have been out of the game with 20-30 stitches in his face well before richards grab the back of his head and slammed it into the boards. On the PK when he broke his stick and was, I guess, um, trying to "block" the shot. I've never seen a professional athelete make himself so skinny. It was like a sewing needle trying to block a shot. Put Patty or Goose in that situation (Which The former was in earlier in the series) and they're laying full out and blocking with their teeth if necessary.

Timmy turns sideways and straightens up as much as possible to avoid even the slightest possibility of anyone thinking he cares as much about this team as the other guys. I guess that makes is number make a little more sense. When he's in the lineup, there are only 19 guys who care.

This is the one bit of good news about Game 7.. if there's a time or place to prove your worth and be a hero, it's right now for Derek Roy (and everyone else, too, but being the player returning to the lineup, you want to make an impact that much more). If not for Derek's play early in the season the Sabres may have never been in position to make the run they did in the second half.

On the PK when Connolly was playing without a stick his effort was more to protect himself then to try and block the shot. Earlier in the series Goose was killing a penalty without a stick and was flying all over laying down on the ice to get in the way. If Timmy cared as much as the rest of the team he'd be putting his body/legs/arms/face in the way to stop the puck. I'd never wish concussions on anyone not named Lindros, but his lack of effort was an insult to the other 19 guys wearing blue.

Connolly led all forwards (besides McCormick maybe-- i never saw the final numbers, but they were neck and neck a couple weeks ago) in blocked shots during the regular season. He also leads forwards in blocked shots this series.

I get the disappointment with the contract, the lack of physical play and the fact he seems to have lost his ability to create offence.

But that really seems to have blinded some people about this guy.

Going into tonight's game he led the forwards in blocked shots with 7.

Who did he insult? Pat Kaleta? (1 BS), Gerbe? (1), Grier (3), McCormick (3)?
