So Shaone is a healthy scratch.

Gragnani gets the game winner.

Will he ever play again? okay, I exaggerate, but does he?

Gragnani has astounded me with his play.

I'm calling this the year of fresh meat.

He couldn't even express the words when Ray asked him about his first goal. He just finally quit trying and laughed. I hate that contracts and big money change these guys. I guess it would change all of us.

I know that saying it now is worthless but I thought last summer why did we sign Morrison. He is kinda of a journeymen and has never been good. I thought it to a lesser degree about Leopold and was glad to be wrong. Morrison just doesnt have what it takes to compete at the nhl level. Not to be mean to butler but I wonder sometimes if he does. Morrison should be traded in the offseason. He was brought in as plug the hole guy and now we have the money to get a better player so lets do it. He does not have to be traded in the offseason but I would be ok with it. "I'm not looking for the best players I'm looking for the right ones" and sadly Morrison is neither. He not a top shutdown guy (never been above a +10) He has almost no offensive production (75pts 478gp) and he contributed to some extent to Myers early season woes. Hes just not worth the 2mil a year price tag at all.

I've seen Gragnani play in Portland, and I remember his one game in Blue and Gold at forward.

What I didn't realize is that he is actually a pretty big kid. He played a physical game yesterday, moved the puck, and didn't blink.

What a game for him.

And his reflectance to take credit for the goal was ....well kind of endearing.

Damn I thought all this time he only signed a one year deal. Looking back I see it was for a second year. That's too bad. I hope Gragnani's future with the club next year isn't affected by this.

I hope they can buyout the Morrisonn contract....the guy simply is not a consistent contributor. At his worst, he's a major liability!!!

If the team were to come to a decision to part company with Morrisonn, I'd bet that a trade partner could be found.

That was a very nice moment.

As for Morrisonn -- I thought he was pretty solid earlier when paired with Weber. I'm kinda expecting them to let Monty go this summer and have Morrisonn fill his spot.

c'mon guys morrisonn is not that bad. Assuming leopold is out for a period of time, having him as a 7th defenseman for the playoff run will prove to be valuable. We cannot count on the top 6 staying healthy (assuming Grags is top 6). I dont think he was ever counted on being a top four defenseman, rather he was signed for depth with Lydman and Tallinder leaving which is exactly what he has provided this year.

Oh, I'm not upset we have him right now for depth. But if we're paying him 2 mil next year to sit in the press box that may be a concern.

This.

Yes I think he will play again. Not that I am getting ahead but if we take the first series to it's limit or make it past we will need everyone of these players we have and possibly more. If 05-06 taught anything it's the playoffs are also about surviving.

For example with Hecht's injury even if he comes back will he be gone in a game again? They should probably have shut him down except they were in a playoff push. Kaleta is one missed check or blocked shot from out again and Grier has been running on fumes not to mention a knee issue. At his age and mileage I expect he will breakdown again in a playoff run.

I think X said it best in another thread, the majority of the players out there are playing through/with some sort of nagging issue, pain or injury.
