DR HOLLIDAY Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 These last four games are going to be crazy. And exciting..........
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 And exciting.......... and I will be nervous as hell tomorrow
87168 Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 Watch the 4th goal again. Enroth makes the save then Arnott grabs the huge rebound and throws it into the open net. Ok. Well...bickering isn't going to reverse time and give the Sabres a win. Everyone is so quick to jump from player to player...when Miller has a bad game people say he sucks...Now that Enroth takes an OVERTIME loss to one of the highest ranked teams in the league, it seems as though people begin to speculating that Miller would have performed better. I think people need to rally behind players and stop dismissing them so quickly after ONE sub par performance. Just my opinion.
Freeezo Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 grrr our so-called best def forward out when we really need him the last 2 years :bag:
novascotiaguy Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 I got a feeling Miller is gonna be on the plane tonight and meet the team tomorrow.

Take it easy, no one is jumping on Enroth......I like him and think he has a big future but the rebounds tonight were a glaring problem.....That being said I will be rooting for him again tomorrow.......It takes time to learn all the skills it takes to be a starter in the NHL and Enroth is well on his way to being one, but it is going to take some time.
Iron Crotch Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 Tomorrow's game is huge, no doubt... but it could very well be the Rangers that are the odd man out. They have Philly and Boston in their next two.
thesportsbuff Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 I got a feeling Miller is gonna be on the plane tonight and meet the team tomorrow. This wouldn't shock me one bit. Tomorrow is like our NCAA 16th seed play-in game. Our best players have to play. I would expect Vanek to play with a bruised hand/leg/genital, and I would hope Miller feels the same way.

He didnt play terribel, I do not think he should be shipped back to portland. I think he is the future after miller but he has some things to work and on. Do we win if miller is gt... idk and idc. We lost and TC sucked but I instead wrote my original post about how I thought Boyes was weak tonight and Enroth has some work to do and is obviously not ready to replace miller. He is clearly a suitable backup and had a rough outing. Tomorrow I expect better from the whole team.
Swedesessed Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 Some thoughts... Sabres PK has been stellar for so long but man they let us down at the WORST time did they not? Congrats to Vanek for Goal #200...and hopefully many more to come.. Enroth: Very shaky early, has an excellent glove hand, recovered very well, was a victim of 2 goals with deflections...what can you do... At least we got a point. But thanks for nothing to the Devils and Islanders :censored:
OverPowerYou Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 For all the times people have uttered these words in the past few years, there's no better time to say it. Tomorrow is "MUST WIN" and it's basically a playoff game.
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 After killing off penalties in 21 straight bummer to give up 2 tonight. Need to play solid defense tomorrow night canes are hot

Considering how well he played tonight, I actually had my hopes up that posters wouldn't be able to find something to blame on him. He was ~70% on draws, stopped a shorthanded 2 on 1 rush and started play back the other way that resulted in a lead for the team. That among his usual shot-blocking routine and defensively responsible play. Go figure.
Swedesessed Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 Tomorrow's game is huge, no doubt... but it could very well be the Rangers that are the odd man out. They have Philly and Boston in their next two. Bingo. While I get the feeling tomorrow is a must win...I feel like its more of a must point game at the VERY least...cannot leave Raleigh empty handed. Case closed.

Thats why after it I said about Boyes and how I thought he played a great deal worse than old timmy boy.
BuffalOhio Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 A turd is a turd, no matter when it is dropped, no matter how long it is. McCreary just took longer to flush, . Show some respect for a future Hall-of-Famer, who as I best as I can recall, has never screwed the Sabres like some other officials. Clearly, you have never been a hockey referee and learned to respect how Bill McCreary manages a game at it's highest level. For him to have earned the respect of almost all players that he has officiated in over 1700 games is an amazing accomplishment. To be able to get through to these players during very emotional games and to be able to diffuse explosive situations is very difficult, and McCreary has done it as well as anyone ever has. This whole game freaking sucked. Hate the Caps, theyre like the Patriots of the NHL. Their fans will be there as long as theyre doing well and if not the arena looks like an AHL game. Hated the whole McCreary thing, hes a freaking ref, calm down. And I hate Ovechkin, hes wildly overrated and I hope we play them in the first round so we'll be just another team to "upset" the Capitals in the playoffs. Screw this, go out and kick some freaking ass tomorrow. The Capitals were honoring McCreary and showing some respect, as we all should. It was his LAST regular season game. He deserves it. I don't think he showed any favoritism either way. Was I happy with the Goose hi stick? No. It is what it is. If the Sabres could get the puck out of their zone with regularity, it may never have happened.

Good post man (rep), he did have a good game, he also blocked some shots tonight as well, one then went all the way back to the capital end, ouch........

I guess all you can say is hockey has its own culture and leave it at that. The proverbial letdown after scoring has really hurt this team.
Stoner Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 Actually - I didn't think the call on Boyes was shaky at all. The Gaustad call was marginal for the 1st period, let alone the last two minutes of the 3rd There's not a lot of subjectivity in that call. The only out for the ref is if the high stick comes as part of a normal backswing or follow through on a shot. You'd want it called on the Caps, right?

I would rather blame Brad Boyes which is what I said, unfortunately after I re read it I did forget a Instead in front of TC and the suck part which if you read the original post was my point, that I am not jumping on enroth or tc but saying others played bad an should be held responsible.

It was the 100% correct call. Besides, we got away with a huge one just a coupleminutes before when nieds slashed Semin like he was trying to chop his arm off. Bad defense, big rebounds...tough loss.

I just listened to the GOOSE presser and he said that the stick was waist high, I only saw it once and it looked like it was about chest high and got the player in the chest. I think it was a bad call at that point in the game.

I think it was a bad call at that point in the game. I just spent five minutes trying to figure out where Boyes' stick caught the Cap. Then I went to the Gaustad call and decided to call it a night. It's so hard to tell. I might have to stand corrected.
