wjag Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 I'm here in Philly. I would be very surprised if he plays at all this series. He hasn't practiced in weeks. Pronger said last week, and I paraphrase, stop asking when I'll be back. My guess is not before game 3 or 4. Reports are that he can't really put anything on the shot. We forget how important the hands are to a defensemen's game until they can't really use them. Factor also that Pronger has a lot of mileage on that body and he isn't in his twenties any more. Healing takes longer..

I wonder if the king of crosschecking will be nearly as effective with an injured paw.
LabattBlue Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 Myers size, PP ability and offensive upside are FAR superior to Montador. You can't really be saying that Myers has been playing as poorly as Monty can you? No. I am saying that people harp on Montador all the time for his giveaways/bad clears and yet Myers is just as bad if not worse in that department, but gets a free pass in that regard.
drnkirishone Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 No. I am saying that people harp on Montador all the time for his giveaways/bad clears and yet Myers is just as bad if not worse in that department, but gets a free pass in that regard. I don't think freepass is the right word. Myers is expected to make plays and be a threat on offense. For that you have to accept some bad breaks/plays plus he is still only a 2nd year player. Monty is expected to bring a physical and defensive game, bad give aways and awful clears are nearly the opposite of what he is expected to do and he is not a young player he has been around long enough to know better on alot of his mistakes. Having said that. I don't think Monty has played as bad as people harp on him about. But he shouldn't be making the mistakes he has been making and having made them his confidence to jump into the rush and hold the point is gone and you can see it. Buffalo game is having the defense do that and he is gonna be useless in the lineup if he doesnt get his head on right.
Kristian Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 Also, if I'm playing against Pronger, first thing I do is slash his hand!! Sabres don't play that way, as Lindy doesn't believe in it. Too bad Lindy wasn't coaching the Bruins last year. That said, this is actually something I respect in Ruff. Unfortunately, when someone else takes liberties, you can either take it and hope for a miracle if your stars are hurt, or get even. I also respect "getting even" a lot
Kristian Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 I wonder if the king of crosschecking will be nearly as effective with an injured paw. My guess is his elbows are just fine, unfortunately.
drnkirishone Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 I'm sure his skate stomping will work just fine too.........
spndnchz Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 Saw Leopold in the stands in game 1. Had his left thumb taped up. For a left handed shooter that's better right?
DR HOLLIDAY Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 My guess is his elbows are just fine, unfortunately. I hope he gets super painful arthritis in those elbows......... :censored:
wjag Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 I hope he gets super painful arthritis in those elbows......... :censored: My guess is he has arthritis in every joint of his body already.
Kristian Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 My guess is he has arthritis in every koint of his body already. But is it super painful yet?
DR HOLLIDAY Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 But is it super painful yet? Yes, lol, we want super painful.........
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 Saw Leopold in the stands in game 1. Had his left thumb taped up. For a left handed shooter that's better right? Only to pokecheck. Anything requiring power...no.
BuffaloSoldier2010 Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 I just skipped over all of the posts to ask a question, so sorry if it's already been addressed. When leopold comes back who do we sit? I personally want gragnani around and think sending him down would be a terrible idea, he may have been a call up but looks far more responsible with the puck than many of our regulars at times. any thoughts on this?
