darksabre Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 Since we've been discussing the NCAA hockey playoffs in other threads I figure it's time to give it its own. Personally, with my Tigers out, I'm pulling for Michigan. UMD seems better than expected and Yale let many down. Hard to believe BC and Miami are already out of it. Let's Go Blue!
darksabre Posted March 27, 2011 Author Report Posted March 27, 2011 Notre Dame! That comeback was epic. I hate Norte Dame though :-P
SwampD Posted April 6, 2011 Report Posted April 6, 2011 Bump. Does anyone know what the schedule is and where we can watch the Frozen Four? EDIT: Sorry, I just found it. Thursday, April 7 National Semifinal Game 1 at 5 p.m. ET on ESPN2 HD/ESPN3.com National Semifinal Game 2 at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2 HD/ESPN3.com Friday, April 8 Hobey Baker Award at 7 p.m. ET on ESPNU HD Saturday, April 9 National Championship Game at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN HD/ESPN3.com
Cereal Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 Just a reminder that the games are on now/tonight. I forgot myself, so I figured others may have. As I type, Notre Dame up 1-0 on Minn.-Duluth end of first period, and Michigan v. NoDak at 8:30pm, both on ESPN2 Personally, I'll be rooting for Michigan.
darksabre Posted April 7, 2011 Author Report Posted April 7, 2011 Duluth ties it at 1. I'm also rooting for Michigan. Let's Go Blue!
thesportsbuff Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 Rooting Notre Dame because I'm from a big Irish family.
darksabre Posted April 7, 2011 Author Report Posted April 7, 2011 I had to turn the Duluth - ND game off. It's too distracting and I have too much work to do.
darksabre Posted April 8, 2011 Author Report Posted April 8, 2011 Alright Michigan, time to get it done!
thesportsbuff Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 From what I'v seen from north dakota this tournament, I don't think anybody is going to beat them.
Buffalo Wings Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 yeah, i want their PP unit. dirty And they didn't even have the #1 PP in the country...statistically. I watched Union rip up every PK unit all year long and then they couldn't score 1 out of 9 against UMD in the regionals. UMD's special teams are phenomenal.
darksabre Posted April 8, 2011 Author Report Posted April 8, 2011 Lots of good hitting in this game. NoDak has run the game so far. I didn't realize Ron Hextall's kid plays for UND. Now I REALLY want them to lose haha
darksabre Posted April 8, 2011 Author Report Posted April 8, 2011 Thomas Vanek home jersey behind the North Dakota bench. Nice!
darksabre Posted April 8, 2011 Author Report Posted April 8, 2011 Michigan! That Shawn Hunwick is absolutely out of his mind. He had no business making the saves he did. Incredible.
SwampD Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 Michigan! That Shawn Hunwick is absolutely out of his mind. He had no business making the saves he did. Incredible. Their whole defense pretty much shut it down, although I think ND had a really bad game plan. They had the "Dump" part down, but it seemed like they forgot about the "Chase" part. Pretty good game though.
Strow Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 Sabres better get the point tonight so I can focus on Michigan on Saturday. Never thought I would see the day that Michigan played the trap and wasn'tgunning the whole game.
shrader Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 So wait, North Dakota choked again? Shocking.
LabattBlue Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 I felt bad for the young North Dakota fan(maybe 10 years old) who they caught on camera after the game ended, with a tear in his eye.
darksabre Posted April 8, 2011 Author Report Posted April 8, 2011 I felt bad for the young North Dakota fan(maybe 10 years old) who they caught on camera after the game ended, with a tear in his eye. I can't even imagine being a NoDak fan at that game. Absolutely heartbreaking. They had every opportunity you could think of to win that game and all they could do is watch Hunwick and the Michigan D take it all away.
Cereal Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 BUMP. An hour til gametime, ESPN. Michigan v. Minn.-Duluth. Go Blue! I guess I'll be flipping between this and the Sabres and Montreal and grillin'.
thesportsbuff Posted April 10, 2011 Report Posted April 10, 2011 Minnesota Duluth wins it 3-2 in OT. what a goal
Two or less Posted April 10, 2011 Report Posted April 10, 2011 Minnesota Duluth wins it 3-2 in OT. what a goal It was a pretty simple goal. TERRIBLE defending by #11 (Lynch i think) who seemed to fall asleep on the play.
