It doesn't matter how they change the rules because there are no two refs in this league consistent enough to impose them correctly...each game reffing is very different and now not only do teams have to determine how their opponent is playing each night but how the refs are calling the game...personally I think inconsistent reffing is one of the NHL's biggest problems

I don't remember who did it, but some knucklehead shot a puck at John Muckler as time ran out back when Mucks was coaching the Sabres. Seems to me it might've been an Ottawa player.

Denny Vial?

Wasn't it Lyle Odelein of Moe-ray-all that shot the puck into the Sabres bench intentionally?

It was Denny Vial. March 20, 1994 Sabres win 6-2 Ray, Sutton, May, Moller all got into fights. As time ran out Vial (who fought Ray and May that night) fired a shot at the Sabres bench.

This was Muckler's quote after the game; "Vial can't hit the net so maybe hit the bench". Classic.

Thanks for looking into it.

No one ever mentions how injured this guy always is, he's played less games than Tim Connolly the past few years.

Did you read the thread? It gets mentioned every time his name comes up.

I could have sworn something similar happened with Montreal, but in the late 90s.

Taro's Odelein scenario sounded very familiar to me. I think it might even be on the RJ cd they put out a few years back.

Not the same game, but worthy to bring back some memories:

First clue that this ranking shouldn't be given the time of day :

"Either way, Neil balances out the good vibes created by good guy Daniel Alfredsson."

"Good guy" Daniel Alfredsson is a cheapshotting POS, punk-ass puke, who routinely run players head first in to the boards from behind, and fired a full slapper directly at Niedermayer with time running out in the 07 finals.

Yup, real class-act for you there.

Damn man, tell us what you really think! Lmao...
