DFITZ1 Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 Spend the next 3 days practicing shooting high. Lots of chances but poor shots. Goal scorers took the night off. Nobody better blame Miller for this loss.
sabres1970 Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 That was the Sabres of 2009, not the sabres of the past week.
BuffaloFansR_Crazy Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 Well that was disappointing. The Cam Ward show tonight. Thought Miller played well. No glaring mistakes made by anyone. They just couldn't find a way to beat Cam. Thought the boos at the end of the game by some of the HSBC fans was pretty classless.
mrjsbu96 Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 i hate to pick on pominville b/c blame deserves to go around, but he has a chance to get a shot in on net with about 45 seconds - it was almost a mini 3 on 2, and rather than fire it low and get a rebound, he floats up in to Ward's blocker and he easily pushes out to the corner....that kind of BS just typlifies the game and this team.
Wyldnwoody44 Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 Sabres just can't get it done when they need to. We have been better lately; but we cant seem to win these close low scoring playoff type games; this worries me
BuffaloFansR_Crazy Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 I'm having a very hard time believing this team makes the playoffs after tonight. okay. You are a joke.
LabattBlue Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 They are gassed. 10 games in 14 nights? After that emotional game Sunday? We could have predicted their flatness. But it ain't over yet. GO SABRES!!! Way to roll out the excuses before the final horn even sounded.
kishoph Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 I don't think they deserved to be boooed, but they definitely didn't play as well as the past 2 weeks. I see the press box in MONTADOR's future, the whole Defense was bad at moving the puck up today, passing was pretty awful. I guess some credit should go to WARD he made a lot of saves but nothing really spectacular. The 1st star forthe Canes should go to the refs for taking the Sabres out of it with 3 minutes left, horrible call.
Wayne VanDorp Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 I know these guys are professionals but I think it's clear they shot their wad on Sunday and had nothing left for tonight.
MichFan Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 Horrible night to lay an egg. Sekera showing why he was benched last month, Connolly showing why there is so much criticism of his play, Monty looking like he inherited whatever was affecting Myers in the first half. If Pegs is serious about money not being an issue, maybe there should be an "accident" at HSBC that forces all remaining home games to be played on the road.
Dave Dryden Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 Disappointing, but not surprising. 9th game in 15 days, 3 in 4 nights. Still 40 shots, in it the whole game. Hot goalie. Get a few days and come back after it. They need to freshen up.
G-Daddy Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 i hate to pick on pominville b/c blame deserves to go around, but he has a chance to get a shot in on net with about 45 seconds - it was almost a mini 3 on 2, and rather than fire it low and get a rebound, he floats up in to Ward's blocker and he easily pushes out to the corner....that kind of BS just typlifies the game and this team. Weren't we all screaming for the Sabres to shoot high?
Samson's Flow Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 the writing was on the wall towards the end of this one, there was just nothing more they could give. All our shots were one and done chances, no sustained pressure. It just sucks that it had to be the canes game that we had no legs for. 4 pointers :death:
TheMatrix31 Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 Team-centric forums are all the same. Too much emotional shift and loss of focus after each result. Calm down guys. It was a huge loss yes, but we're not doomed.
JohnRobertEichel Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 okay. You are a joke. It's my opinion. Deal with it or go slit your throat. This was an epic choke job, plain and simple. Getting shut out at home against a team breathing down their necks for the 8th spot?
sabres1970 Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 I don't care who's in goal, with forty shots in such an important game you need to get atleast one. This is why we're not there yet. We still need one more big time goal scorer at the least.
Stoner Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 Monty with the play that sums up the night. Other than keeping Miller on his routine and treating injuries, I hope Lindy forbids these guys from even looking at a rink until Friday. They are gassed. 10 games in 14 nights? After that emotional game Sunday? We could have predicted their flatness. But it ain't over yet. GO SABRES!!! I don't know where 10 in 14 is coming from.
K-9 Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 Sabres just can't get it done when they need to. That's a bit harsh. They've climbed back into eighth place. That's a lot of "getting it done." They'll regroup and play better on Saturday. Don't give up on 'em. GO SABRES!!!
DFITZ1 Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 the writing was on the wall towards the end of this one, there was just nothing more they could give. All our shots were one and done chances, no sustained pressure. It just sucks that it had to be the canes game that we had no legs for. 4 pointers :death: No deflections, no screening Ward, low angle shots, not enough pressure on rebounds. It's like a football team that consistently drives to the red zone, but won't score.
tom webster Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 I don't know where 10 in 14 is coming from. Ed Olcyk. Must have decided to credit them with another game.
LabattBlue Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 I don't know where 10 in 14 is coming from. It sounds good after a home shutout loss.
LabattBlue Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 Ed Olcyk. Must have decided to credit them with another game. ..and one less day. :)
K-9 Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 Way to roll out the excuses before the final horn even sounded. I don't offer any excuses. I'm a fan for crissakes. It's not my job to provide excuses. I could give two sh*ts. Just stating a fact. Sorry you have a problem with that. I'm sure the regular sticks in the mud will be joining you soon. You'll have fun commiserating with them, I'm sure. GO SABRES!!!
Stoner Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 It's the damn home games that will kill this team. The waving white towels made this one feel like the finals in 99.
