wallybarthman Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBkJy3t16CI I decided to just post the entire overtime period since, well, Stafford's goal came pretty early. I'm also going to post Niedermeyer's first goal of the season later...
wjag Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 Sekera was responsbile for cutting off the Wild outlet pass. He interrupted the play leaving the puck for Stafford to pick up and skate in on. That play was equally important in the Sabres winning last night. A huge assist.
Realist Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 I didn't notice it at the time, but Burns really laid into Stafford with a right punch/forearm to the head.
SabresMojo Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 Stafford barreled his way on the goal-line Im sure that reminded EVERYONE on here of Pommers goal way back when lol

His forecheck was pretty relentless down low and his last effort forced the up puck up the boards which led to a bad pass.
Meathead Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 eh stafford sucks he didnt get good when i wanted him to so i refuse to believe he is now
Calvin Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 I didn't notice it at the time, but Burns really laid into Stafford with a right punch/forearm to the head. right in front of the ref too.. how is that not called, or reviewed later??
FogBat Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 right in front of the ref too.. how is that not called, or reviewed later?? I don't know either. However, even if the refs or the linesmen had put their hand(s) up in the air to call a penalty, it wouldn't have mattered. 1, from the time it happened to the goal was probably a difference of two seconds. 2, even if they called it, the call would have been a wash since Stafford had control of the puck the whole time right up to putting the biscuit in the basket.
BlueNGold Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 I'd say, watch it again. Tyler Myers was the one that really stood out. He actually had the puck about 14-15 seconds (@ 1/3) of the overtime. Controlled the play for the most part the first 25 - 30 seconds. If you watch again...he brought it down the ice, got over the blue line, then brought it down low, then kept it in again........then went off to the bench (to give someone else the +1). That was FFFFFFFf-------N sweeeet!! He rocked it 4 on 4. side note: Hockey = the hit on Drew never gets called in OT. But I am sure it made it all the sweeter for him. It was one of the first thing he mentions in the post game interview. Go Sabres. Good Times.

So, if that's true, that's definitely a good thing.
LGR4GM Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 "sigh" hate to say it but I liked TC in the OT he played like he hasn't played in years... determined. Nice plays drew and TC and Sekera an myers
