Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 After thinking it over for a bit, maybe our new owner IS onto something. Maybe....just MAYBE....if all of us channel our thoughts in a positive fashion towards this team, they will blossom like a magenta tulip in the April dew. Let me be the first to offer my praise and well-wishes to our band of brave warriors. I would hope that others with a critical eye may offer encouragement as well. If someone sees fit, please feel free to forward this thread to Mr. Ted Black for motivational purposes. Let me start......ughhumm....... Patty Lalime - I know it can be frustrating to only start a dozen games during the Obama administration....but don't let that get you down. When I see those pearly whites and bright eyes peeking out of that woolen hat at the intersection of the bench and locker room runway, I know we are in good hands. Your dedication to this team is unquestioned, especially as you aid us in the most efficient line changes in the league by swinging open and shut the Cellino and Barnes trivia door. Things like that don't show up on the stat sheet.....but we notice....and we appreciate it. Tim Connolly - Your swift hands and vision on the ice have never been questioned. What amazes me however is your passion for the mental side of the game. You try and gain an advantage on your opponent by taking it as far as wearing a poker face of cluelessness and apathy, only to lull your opposition into a false sense of security and allowing you to pounce on an oppurtunity with great furvor. Things like that don't show up on the stat sheet.....but we notice....and we appreciate it. Paul Gaustad - It all begins with a faceoff.....and nobody does it better than you. The way you drift into the circle, hamster wheel spinning the whole time...just looking for a weakness in your rival. Do you use power? Finesse? Do you change grip in mid-draw with the precision of Bruce Jenner on the high rings circa 1984? Things like that don't show up on the stat sheet.....but we notice....and we appreciate it. Drew Stafford - Your progress this year has been a welcomed sight. While you could have listened to the naysayers who felt you were an aloof youngster more worried about your score on Guitar Hero than the score at the arena, you knew the truth. Your uncanny ability to identify the best hand-eye coordination activity available, and spending hours a day, honing your craft so that it would translate to the ice, is nothing short of brilliant. When hundreds of fans throw hats onto the ice in celebration of your latest feat, I know deep down Cliffs of Dover was going through your mind as you made that impossible move look routine. Things like that don't show up on the stat sheet.....but we notice....and we appreciate it. Rob Niedermayer - Like Billy Carter, Roger Clinton, and Tito Jackson.....you have a great burden to carry. Let me say that you do so with pure class. While some athletes would panic if they hit the field of play and seemingly lost any and all of their skills overnight on a random July eve, you plow through each and every game as if it doesn't bother you. Like a grandmother newly placed on the dementia ward of a nursing facility, you handle your life progress with grace. Things like that don't show up on the stat sheet.....but we notice....and we appreciate it. Jochen Hecht - The razor-like, German precision which you display every game is mindblowing. By looking at you face, your game, your effort, I could not tell you if we are winning 5-0, or losing 7-1. Composure like that doesn't grow on trees. If you were born 2 generations earlier, I am convinced you would have won the war. Things like that don't show up on the stat sheet.....but we notice....and we appreciate it. Ryan Miller - Sure...it would be easy to point out the Vezina trophy...the Silver medal....the Hobey Baker.....but us fans know what really makes you tick. Your love of photography. While I try each and every day to understand the world around me and appreciate the little things, your zen-like connection to nature through your Polaroid is evedent. I can only hope to one day have an understanding of myself through the instrument of the lens, which you have displayed. And when you are at peace with yourself, you can be at peace on the ice. Things like that don't show up on the stat sheet.....but we notice....and we appreciate it. Nathan Gerbe - People may want to question your ability because of your size, but you won't give them the time of day. Did you know that during the filming of the original Willy Wonka, just one of the Oompa Loompas made more money than Gene Wilder? True story. What you have can't be measured by a ruler.....it's called heart. The kind of heart that beats in a mighty lion. While you may not have green hair....or borrow Derek Roy's bronzer....Things like that don't show up on the stat sheet.....but we notice....and we appreciate it. I want to encourage all of my SabreSpace bretheren to continue this positive flow of thought.....as we quest as one, to the promised land of Lord Stanley!!!!!

gregkash Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 I'm a fan when the title of the post makes no sense what so ever, here's to you for blatantly disregarding the meaning of repository. Things like that don't show up on the stat sheet... but we notice... and we appreciate it.

nfreeman Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 DD -- great work here. It doesn't quite make up for that 9-page paranoid monstrosity of a thread you cooked up in the lab and then fertilized liberally regarding TP's meeting with TBN, but it's good to see you bringing the good stuff too. I love when the second post of a thread includes a quote of the entire first post of a thread.
