Freeezo Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 I just read this article. Figured I'd post it. What do you guys think? Link thx for the link. I still like the perspective that a game off brings this guy but they are in must win games. These guy's simply can't drop a game like tommorrow...
CallawaySabres Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 For the love of God, just play Enroth against Detroit. Miller is at the top of his game right now and you want to blow that against a team that they probably won't beat anyway.....Tuesday against the Rangers will be the biggest game of the year and right after that is Carolina. Get 3 out of the next 4 games and they are in great shape.

biodork Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 I would have thought Miller would be playing Detroit for sure and Enroth against Ottawa. Why start him for both if you don't need to? Get the kid some more experience and Millsie a rest before the long road trip.
LabattBlue Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 No one should be surprised by this news. Get used to it. Lindy is here for at least 11-12.

87168 Posted February 25, 2011 Author Report Posted February 25, 2011 You guys are saying the same things I was saying to myself while I was reading the article. I cant believe it. Miller is really pulling it together and Ruff wants to start Miller in both games, and on top of all that the second game is a MUCH MUCH harder team offensively and defensively than Ottawa. I'm really worried. We need these points. Toronto just won tonight. They are now 1 point behind us. They've really stepped their game up and is playing like a team fighting for a playoff spot. Toronto's next game is against Pitts. I don't expect them to win that game, but who knows, I didn't expect them to beat the Habs either.
Two or less Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 Mistake IMO. We are doing everything in our power to get into the playoffs, but are we satisfied once we get in? Play Enroth now, don't kill Miller too much, and if we do get in, great, let's give it our best shot against whom ever we play. Besides, Enroth is not some kind of bum. He's played great in several games, even some loses.
thesportsbuff Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 I'm not disagreeing but I say this every time, so I will again... do any of us really know how much playing in back-to-back games effects an NHL goalie? The answer is no. All I know is handing away points at this point of the season is stupid. Miller should play against Detroit. Don't put Enroth in because you expect to lose... that's probably the stupidest thing I've ever heard. If Miller is a top tier goaltender it shouldn't matter how good Detroit's offense is. He should be able to keep us in the game. Putting a rookie in against one of the league's better teams? Probably a mistake. I wouldn't mind Enroth playing against Ottawa but honestly I could care less, I hope Miller plays in both and wins both. Then he gets two days of rest before the Rangers game. That should be plenty. Once we CLINCH a playoff spot we can start worrying about resting Miller.

Not trying to nitpick, but I don't think you need to be a doctor to know that any strenuous activity, especially one right after another will take a toll on the human body. Not to mention mentally. Imagine how much pressure is on Miller right now. He knows that this team isn't the best at scoring, therefore he needs to stop as many shots as he possibly can in order to snag a playoff spot. While I don't agree with starting Enroth against a difficult team like Detroit, I do think playing him against Ottawa would only benefit Miller. I mean, rest is rest. Toronto is pretty hot right now, they're only a point behind us. We all know that Miller is a crucial part of this team and you cant disagree that we need him to be his best. Resting him against a team like Ottawa I think is the right thing to do. :)

Once we have a playoff spot secured; then rest him. Millers play early in the season has put him in this no rest position.
nucci Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 Back to back at home? Are you afraid he's going to be tired? I bet after the game he goes home to get some sleep and since he doesn't have to get up early for work I think he should be ok to play 2 games in a row.
