Steve Phillips Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Per Twitter: TSNBobMcKenzie Bob McKenzie CGY puts Ales Kotalik on re-entry waivers, BUF puts Craig Rivet on waivers, PHI puts Nik Zherdev on waivers, NSH puts on Marek Slap the "C" on Vanek and let's go!!!!
shrader Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 That doesn't actually mean he's going anywhere.

LGR4GM Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 srry was posting when you put up the link. Ok well thats a good sign right? Wonder if darcy is making a move? Clearing cap space and stuff.
darksabre Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 That doesn't actually mean he's going anywhere. Yeah but what are the odds he doesn't clear waivers? Pretty solid birthday present Darcy. Keep it up.
Assquatch Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Don't put the broom down just yet, Darcy!
SDS Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 A fairly cold and calculating move out o the gate for Mr. Softie...
LGR4GM Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 is darcy making room for a huge trade, and I feel bad for rivet. Thats alot of cap space now freed up. Something is brewing I feel it.
X. Benedict Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Yeah but what are the odds he doesn't clear waivers? Pretty solid birthday present Darcy. Keep it up. I'm pretty sure he'll clear. Assigning him to Portland makes sense.
Steve Phillips Posted February 23, 2011 Author Report Posted February 23, 2011 Maybe they did bury Rivet's "C" at Center Ice yesterday after all!!!!!!
LGR4GM Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 wait a second who the hell is captain now? Vanek? Myers? Goose? who could it be? Tonights game is getting more interesting. :clapping:
thesportsbuff Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 I may be in the minority but ill be shocked if nobody picks up Zherdev
ROC Sabres Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 wait a second who the hell is captain now? Vanek? Myers? Goose? who could it be? Tonights game is getting more interesting. :clapping: Probably just go with three A's or rotating like before.
X. Benedict Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 I would just like to point out how much dignity Rivet has handled himself with. His limbo situation must have been torture.
shrader Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Probably just go with three A's or rotating like before. He's still on the team. There will be no change tonight.
That Aud Smell Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 I would just like to point out how much dignity Rivet has handled himself with. His limbo situation must have been torture. this is a good point. i also see that our erstwhile shoot-out specialist is on the waiver report.
LGR4GM Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Yea Rivet was really classy about it although he should have given up his C but hey I feel bad for the guy. Hope we are about to make a blockbuster.... Darcy you now have 96hours to prove why Pegula kept you, ready and GO!
ROC Sabres Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 He's still on the team. There will be no change tonight. Or will there???
Weave Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 I would just like to point out how much dignity Rivet has handled himself with. His limbo situation must have been torture. +1 As much as I believe that Rivet waited one year too long to retire, I have to say that I admire him greatly for the class and dignity he has handled this situation with. He's a pro. Always was.
Robviously Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 I would just like to point out how much dignity Rivet has handled himself with. His limbo situation must have been torture. This. I always liked the guy and still do. Everyone hits the wall at some point though.
X. Benedict Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 This. I always liked the guy and still do. Everyone hits the wall at some point though. Very true.
shrader Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Or will there??? Unless he was waived yesterday before noon, nothing can happen with him until noon tomorrow. There's a 24 hour period on any of these moves where teams can make a claim. So if they haven't already taken the C off his jersey up to this point, they're not going to do it until he's officially not with the team anymore.
