Stoner Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 3rd home loss in a row.... Sadly, it's four. In one week. Wonder if that's a franchise record for home losses in a week.
87168 Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 well at least the wings vs wild game is exciting. I root for detroit just because theyre also in the rustbelt. You know, the supposed "armpit of the US"... Its going to a shootout!
Hawerchuk Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 Five minutes for KALETA and McCORMICK, six for GERBE, yet #20 gets 12 minutes. I am so sick of seeing that guy get any ice time at all, they'd be better off just throwing a stick on to the ice. Its maddening for sure. Neides brings nothing to this team.
SabreInFla Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 Let's offer Miller for Datsyuk straight up.
DFITZ1 Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 right on.this is the same soft team (minus some talent) that lost to the bruins last yr. The problem the FO failed to address last season summer was goal scoring, and its been evident these last 3 games. I don't even think a shutout gives us a 50-50 shot at a regulation win. Everyone thought we needed toughness, but toughness doesn't always score goals. I hope some major moves are planned this week (other than Pegula taking ownership).
87168 Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 Oye vay man. To be a fan in Buffalo you need patience. Honestly, i feel like major moves will be made this week. They have no choice. What they have right now is not cutting it. Poor season start and what looks to be a poor season end should be an eye opener for the head of the club. And the lack of consistency is appalling.

My patience ran out with the front office disaster after '07. They had the players for a more SC runs, let'em walk, then flare their nose at the fans saying they had the teams interest under control better than the fans thought. Fans were right, FO blundered big time and weren't held accountible (other than blogs and BN articles). I'm tired of this team and staff saying they really have what it takes and then play so imeptly when it counts, especially the top players. Meanwhile, the players let go are integral parts of playoff teams.
darksabre Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 You really wouldn't want that penalty called on Washington? Seriously? Holy cow. Of course I want it called on Washigton. Doesn't mean it was a penalty though. Caps player touched the puck and Morrisonn finished his check. It was a good hockey play.

The huge mistake was Briere of course.I give them some credit for a couple of decent recent drafts...-but you are correct. This team is soft physically and mentally--and very average in talent.

SwampD Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 You really wouldn't want that penalty called on Washington? Seriously? Holy cow. I would have been shocked had you not made this post. Of course I want it called on Washigton. Doesn't mean it was a penalty though. Caps player touched the puck and Morrisonn finished his check. It was a good hockey play. That was a bad call, only because not 3 minutes later, a Sabre was impeded in the exact same manner and there was no call. And I'm the contrarian? Yes. Yes you are.

Six minutes for Gerbe? That I totally do not understand

LabattBlue Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 Just one thing... During the first period, they make an announcement that they would like to thank the following employees of the Sabres for their efforts. Up comes a live shot of Quinn & DiPofi( I wouldn't have recognized DiPofi if they hadn't put his name on the board). There was a very faint splattering of applause...I booed loudly. I'd love to know what employee is still sucking up to that clown Quinn.

Quinn is a joke, but it is a move showing class by Pegula...After the deal is finalized, then there may be some bloodletting...
rickshaw Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 Seriously, this team makes me so mad. I was out and done with them and then they reel me back in and actually look like they'll get into the playoffs. And then they pull this stunt, losing 3 straight home games. They had it in their hands, a playoff spot and they do this? Funny thing is they still have a chance with the turtle derby of the East. They would be 14th in the West and holding it firmly. I am so pissed at this run at home. Terrible. This stand and the season opening one have doomed this club. Frustrating or what?

thesportsbuff Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 “It’s tough to win when you’re scoring one (goal),” Miller said. “You have to be willing to find a way to score some dirty goals and get some pucks to the net.” I missed the game today, first one of the season I didn't watch, but the game winner he gave up looked weak.

darksabre Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 The winner looked like a pretty wicked tip from where I sat. I wouldn't call either of the goals today weak. Miller played some of the better hockey he has all year and simply got zero support from the rest of the team.

Lanny Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 “It’s tough to win when you’re scoring one (goal),” Miller said. “You have to be willing to find a way to score some dirty goals and get some pucks to the net.” I missed the game today, first one of the season I didn't watch, but the game winner he gave up looked weak. He gave up a big rebound resulting in a awkward angle shot. Despite his being somewhat out of position it appeared as though he was going to have no trouble catching it, but it then tipped the shaft of a Capitals players stick. I wouldn't call either of the goals today weak. Miller played some of the better hockey he has all year and simply got zero support from the rest of the team. Agreed.
