ThePebble19 Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Enroth actually made saves on those but was too deep in the net. He straightened right out obviously. PTR Yeah, that is mostly what I meant by crappy goals...He played them right, they just slipped through.
Stoner Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 It was barely a hold if you could even call it that. That play happens a dozen times every game and never gets called. Why now? Forget that. May I quote you? I like hockey.
Weave Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Freaking feed I was watching crapped out with a couple minutes left in OT. Did I catch that right? 10 rounds in the shootout? Dammit. I'll have to look for youtube vids tomorrow.
Seannie34 Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Nobody circles the the wagons like the Buffalo....Sabres?
Stoner Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Interesting that the Sabres currently boast 2 of the top 20 goal scorers in the NHL (Stafford, Vanek). So Darcy was almost right.
wnyguy Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 A top 6 forward shooting 10th? Yikes... I think Lindy was saving him..... for just such an emergency.
Iron Crotch Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 It really is nice to get a win when Miller doesn't play. Makes you wonder why Enroth wasn't up earlier during some of the back-to-back games. 2 back on Carolina with 2 at hand. Only 4 back of the Rangers with 3 at hand. This is getting interesting...
inkman Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 I almost ###### myself on Myers shot in OT.
ThePebble19 Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Freaking feed I was watching crapped out with a couple minutes left in OT. Did I catch that right? 10 rounds in the shootout? Dammit. I'll have to look for youtube vids tomorrow. Yep, that is correct. I was almost foiled with 1:30 left in regulation...The wife had Parenthood and Teen Mom 2 set up to tape on the DVR, and it swapped channels on me. The Valentine's Day nice husband routine is over, Teen Mom 2 met it's demise immediately...
thesportsbuff Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Look Ricky Retardo - it was an observation. Am I allowed to make an observation? Tell me who you would have had him shoot for instead. I for one have no problem shooting goalscorers and offensive defensemen before a mostly defensive forward with no hands and little offensive production.
SDS Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 I almost ###### myself on Myers shot in OT. Are you sure the two events were related?
stenbaro Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 I loved the fact that Gerbe and Ennis were solid in the shootout..I expected them to score not hoped before they went in to shoot.. This was a really good win, the kind that gives a young team some real good confidence...Onto the Maple Laffs...
SabresFan526 Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Spectacular game by Enroth. He was absolutely fantastic tonight. Darcy, it's time to work out a trade for Lalime or waive him and send him to Portland, assuming he clears. Enroth is ready for the NHL. Humongous win in Montreal against a hugely favored opponent, and this guy plays spectacular. Great game by Enroth. Huge two points and a very gutty win by the Sabres. Great job to come back from 2 goals down. Our MVP, Drew Stafford, puts another goal in, and the population of Pominville goes up one more on the game-tying goal. Great job by the Sabres tonight. I'm hoping the momentum carries forward to tomorrow night. I'm expecting a shutout by Miller against the Leafs. By shutting out the Leafs tomorrow night, he will silence all the critics at least for a little while, but I'm expecting it against a team he owns.
Eleven Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 A top 6 forward shooting 10th? Yikes... This is not new. Remember Drury in shootouts? We preferred our third-liners back then.
Eleven Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 I'm so pumped after that shootout (and have such an early morning) that I had to do a shot. I used my Ryan Miller shotglass for luck for tomorrow.
Two or less Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Enroth is definitely a NHL caliber goalie. He's had several great games already where he's saved us. Tonight, against Toronto, against Pittsburgh (the 1-0 loss)... Enroth is very impressive.

Interesting idea about keeping Enroth up here, Maybe a little push from behind will light a fire under Miller?

I for one have no problem shooting goalscorers and offensive defensemen before a mostly defensive forward with no hands and little offensive production. again, I wasn't complaining. It was an observation.
LabattBlue Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 I complain about this every time the Sabres play in Montreal, but their fans come across as ignorant morons when they boo every penalty against the Habs whether it was a good call or not. Stop it! That is something Hurricane/Panther/Thrasher/Coyote fans are expected to do because they don't know the difference between a good call and a bad call. PS That was a GREAT finish after a poor start.
SDS Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Interesting idea about keeping Enroth up here, Maybe a little push from behind will light a fire under Miller? he isn't up here because he plays in Portland instead of sitting in Buffalo.
87168 Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Darcy and Ruff need to stop playing games and make a move with Enroth. this isnt the first time he's saved us during the shootout. A little more NHL level conditioning and Enroth will be recognized as the beast he is. Buffalo needs stronger D in general but could you imagine a defined defense accompanied by Miller and Enroth. Killer!
wnyguy Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 he isn't up here because he plays in Portland instead of sitting in Buffalo. Yeah I know, but the reason our backup doesn't play is because the coach has no confidence in him. I wouldn't mind keeping Enroth up here and playing him every 3 or 4 games.
SabresFan526 Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Interesting idea about keeping Enroth up here, Maybe a little push from behind will light a fire under Miller? Push is nice, but in reality, he's good enough to at least be the backup in case anything happens to Miller and to spot Miller on occasional starts. After the games he's played this year that Vanek-Man references, you can't tell me he isn't NHL ready. Maybe Enroth will push Miller and make him play better, but the reality is, he's ready for the NHL as far as I'm concerned and he's an upgrade over the current backup goalie in Lalime. Enroth made some huge saves tonight. In fact, if he freezes the puck on the first goal instead of giving Pacioretty a second chance, it's not a goal. He played really well tonight and if not this year, should be the backup goalie next year for sure.
