Dude is way smaller than what they say. I could take him. I've noticed this about a lot of pro hockey players. I remember seeing Teppo at the Clarence Fair and thinking "man, that dude is skinny." Ryan Miller is the same way. Obviously there are some truly huge guys out there like Chara, Pronger, Myers, and even Vanek is a big boy. But a lot of these guys just look big because of their pads.

Def not want I expected him to be with since every chick in Buffalo thinks he's a dream boat. I definitely see now why he won't hit anybody we want him to. He's just a weee lil boy. Prob 6'5" 210lbs tops. Def not what expect from a guy the organization tries to sell us as our tough, gritty, face-off winning center. Makes me think I could be a fourth line center in this league and make $2mm.

I ran into Darryl Talley at a movie theater in the late 80's - he had this tiny little white chick with the biggest hair I had ever seen on his arm. She was wearing a full length fur coat, and she looked like he had just pulled her out of a dumpster and beat the ###### out of her. As I have said before, I think Jenny Craig is our strength and conditioning coach. Feed that boy a cheese burger! At 6'5" he should go a good 230!
Weave Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 Goose lost alot of weight before last season. IIRC he was asked to to become quicker. IMO he lost alot of effectiveness when he lost that weight.

inkman Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 As we've mentioned before, nearly every NHL player has his height & weight exaggerated. Maybe they measure therm with their skates and pads on, who knows, but whatever the reason, these guys don't measure up.

It was over 20 years ago. I have killed a lot of brain cells since then, but I would say no. I remember thinking to myself that she looked old and scabby, but I was probably 16 or 17 at the time.

I literally ran into Talley a couple years ago in the gift shop of the football hall of fame. Darryl Talley, even 15 years retired from the NFL, still could blow up the average RB. I run into a bunch of them every week, and I'm always amazed at how small they look. In street clothes, even Chara looks thin. I find it hard to believe that anyone here would be able to "take" many NHL players, much less Gaustad, in a fair fight. These guys might be lean, but they're in better shape than any of us and likely have more experience fighting.

Between the NHL, AHL, and juniors he's been in 91 fights according to hockeyfights.com/players/1684. Maybe you have been in 92+ fights, but unless you are a boxer or some thin of the sort, I find it hard to believe.

I know Mair got rocked last year by somebody out in front of the Snooty Fox and I'm sure he's not the only one who has.
