nfreeman Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 Not to me they don't. The lack of speed and any type of puck control ability will kill them, as it always does. They play a great deal of their game in their own zone or nuetral zone, not really a recipe for success. I've seen Grier and Nieds cough the puck up so many times this season. I disagree. That line has been quite good on the forecheck. Again, there's a reason LR has them starting every period. As for XB's example above: last night, as the 3rd period wound down, it was very important for the Sabres to safeguard the single point. There was a defensive zone faceoff with less than 1 minute to go. Here comes Gaustad, clean win on the faceoff, Sabres control, out goes the puck. Byron, Adam, Ennis and TC don't deliver in that situation.

Those guys don't cough up the puck. They don't have the wheels anymore, but the cough up is really the exception. Grier has really been very good the last three or four weeks. More often than not they come in for the draws in the defensive zone. So they are scooping it up, moving it out, dumping it in. Backhoes. Oatmeal. Bran Muffins. Insoluble fiber.

Sorry but i was pissed at Lindy for leaving those guys on the ice after a timeout call to finish the game and the draw was in Floridas end and very quickly the puck was down to our end. We need to go for athe kill. Not preserve a point and in so doing also allow a team you need to bury get a point also. Sorry Lindy needs to get some stones in that situation. VANEK is on the bench with a draw in the opponent end to finish a tie game? Really? R e a l l y?
JJBuffalo Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 According to hockey buzz, Kaleta in and Byron remains in for Sundays game. My guess is that Niedermayer sits.

Just read a report on todays practice and Byron took turns with Connolly. Byron looks to be going back down soon. They had Kaleta on a line with gerbe n mccormick.

Oh and I believe TC was on at the end of the third on the pp and missed so you are correct with him. He will not deliver. We know that though so why was he on the ice?

First goal was quirky from how I saw it. Looked like Miller got boxed out of the crease when he left his post. Every player gets scored on in this league.
dumb_dumb88 Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 So, is it true that Enroth has been recalled for Tuesday's game against the Canadians? Can anyone confirm?

Eleven Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 So, is it true that Enroth has been recalled for Tuesday's game against the Canadians? Can anyone confirm? Where did you hear/read it to begin with? That might be a good place to start with confirming it.

Never mind, just a lame ass buddy of mine sending crap in an email. He's a Carolina fan now (formerly a Buffalo native, the bastage), he hates Miller and loves to see him do poorly.... and I should have seen that one coming. In any event, he did forward this link along to me. After the game the wife and I sat down to watch some tube and he sent me a link to what looks like a little heated exchange between Miller and Sullivan. http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/columns/jerry-sullivan/article341056.ece

He was never a Sabres fan in the first place.
