SwampD Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 You can't call icing and not consider that interference They just did. It's Florida and Buffalo in front of 47 people. Do you really think we're getting the A,B,C,D, or even E Officiating crew. EDIT:Actually there are only 5 games tonight so it's probably the E crew.
Iron Crotch Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 I listed to a little bit of this game on the Panther's radio network... what a fantastically boring pair of announcers.

BuffaloFansR_Crazy Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 The bankruptcy and Bills lease are fresh in people's minds. Whats that have to do with Hockey in the South? And are you saying no one would be going to Buffalo games unless they were afraid the teams would move? I thought you didn't even like the Sabres:)
SwampD Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 Ha ha! I should have also said that Bernier did a great job of getting under Gerbe's skin and making him do something stupid. Bernier also ran into Miller a little late, late in that period. I think Cody's going to have to send him a little message in the third.

I thought you didn't even like the Sabres:) Just an example how even so-called "sports towns" have their moments. Actually I love the Sabres. Have for 40 years now. The people running the franchise these days? Not so much.
Eleven Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 Why is there two teams in Florida? It's embarrassing to see that many empty seats. I saw tickets at center ice in the 100s for $13 on stubhub last night. I would much rather have a new rival in Hamilton than all these fake a$$ teams in the south. Give it time, and someone will blame it on Ruff. Like most pro-sports teams, they don't draw if they don't win. I'm sure many remember the crowds at the Ralph prior to the Super Bowl teams and possibly losing the team. There were more players on the field than fans in the stands. Don't forget, that even during the Hasek years the Rigas family would give away thousands of tickets. I remember getting tickets to a Devils game by simply ordering HBO. I didn't get a sense of the crowd the other night; did division-leading Tampa have anyone there? I do think it has more to do with being in a market where people love the game than anything else. I do not think it has to do with any fears of losing the team (Phoenix still has no crowd and DC didn't until OV showed up). I do also recall the bankrupt Sabres having trouble, but I believe your timeline is wrong--I don't recall the Rigas-Sabres having trouble selling tix until the Rigases were under indictment. I didn't live here then, but I know I had a hell of a time getting tickets when I visited, and when I saw the games on ESPN or Fox (remember that?) they did not seem poorly attended. Florida style of play is that known as "###### hockey"--essentially play 3 or 4 guys back like we have a lead, even though we don't but just because we are happy to get one point, then while the other team takes chances try to capitalize with odd man rushes. This all makes for about the worst game of hockey you can watch. No wonder no one wants to go I would be falling asleep if I had to watch this every game. Thank god Buffalo plays with balls. New Jersey won several Cups with that ######. It's horrible hockey to watch, though. this is a really dull game.. i'm going to struggle to even make the third period Agreed. I took the TV out of the bedroom three months ago and I'm lamenting the fact that I might have to watch the rest of this in an upright position.

Stoner Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 I bet Giovanni's coal fire pizza is good.
BuffaloFansR_Crazy Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 Right there is way the Sabres are Pu$$ies. Anyone see the Habs vs B's game. I don't care if Booth was pushed into Miller, you still punch him in the head.
Eleven Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 The Rigas family papered the crowd for years. Again, I didn't live here then, but I'm just not able to accept that one at face value, with a team that went to the Conference Finals twice and the Finals once. This town isn't any richer now than it was then, this team isn't any more successful than it was then (dammit, that dirty shin guard) and there's a waiting list for season tickets now.

I bought My ticket every time I went. Hey, a powerplay.
Eleven Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 I think something just happened in the game. Not sure what. Oh--a power play.
deluca67 Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 I bought My ticket every time I went. Hey, a powerplay. You should have ordered HBO and got some free tickets.
Eleven Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 Florida is announcing a show with Slash from Guns-N-Roses. Know how I know? Because it echoed through my TV screen. PA, THIS is what a dead arena sounds like.
JohnRobertEichel Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 Philly with the regulation win over Carolina! Sabres really need to get 2 points tonight. Doesn't really matter all that much if it goes into OT. Just get the 2 points.
BuffaloFansR_Crazy Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 You should have ordered HBO and got some free tickets. Haha! And they cap their season tickets so others can still buy some.
X. Benedict Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 Philly with the regulation win over Carolina! Sabres really need to get 2 points tonight. Doesn't really matter all that much if it goes into OT. Just get the 2 points. Nice.

BuffaloFansR_Crazy Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 Now Drew has to score to keep up!
