dumb_dumb88 Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 Two of three goal against Miller tonight were weak. Nice post. Thank you for responding. And I do agree with you. The goal off of Connolly was really the one I'd let slip. The other 2 were weak in my opinion as well. Good eye on the game Mr. wonderbread, and once again, thanks for the response.

Guest Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 The Sabres played as if they were told the new owner can only watch the first period tonight. I hope TP was just as disgusted as I was at watching this team of spineless midgets tonight.
mrjsbu96 Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 I was really hoping to come home and see we finally put an end (for a night) to this Pitt hex, especially after they played 3 in 4 nights.... This is so especially sad, because outside of FL winning tonight, CAR and ATL have done everything they can for the past two weeks to leave the door open for us....ugh. Can't tell from reading through the posts though if the effort was there, but talent-short, or still not a good effort...ugh, i miss not being in the playoffs...
nfreeman Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 Two of three goal against Miller tonight were weak. Nice post. Well, I agree on the wrister, but I thought Cooke made a really nice move, with the strong finish, and was all alone in front for his goal. The first period was pretty even, although Miller had to make a number of fine saves. Pittsburgh's forecheck took over the game in the 2nd and Miller probably needed to make one more save. But the Sabres played a very strong 3rd period and had a number of chances to tie. The "top 6" had a number of opportunities throughout the game, but didn't convert anything, which won't result in too many wins against a team as good as Pittsburgh. Staal was probably the best player on the ice in the first 2 periods. Ennis created a lot of opportunities but shot wide or lost control at the last second a number of times. Vanek was quieter than I would've liked. Pommer had a number of chances and made several nice backchecks, but again didn't convert when the Sabres really needed a goal. Sekera had a pretty shaky game. The entire defense was a mess for about a 5-minute stretch in the 2nd period. Oh well. It was an entertaining game. Unfortunately they simply can't afford to lose many games if they want to make the playoffs. Back on the horse tomorrow night.
rickshaw Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 Not sure if anyone commented on this yet, but Cooke was offside at the blueline when the Pens entered the zone. Linseman missed it and seconds later, it's 3-2.
SwampD Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 Boy, I'd rather watching Ellis or Adam over Connolly. The treads really come of that tire this season.

Linseman missed it and seconds later, it's 3-2. Yeah I screamed at the t.v. and mentioned it in the around the league thread. If you get the chance check out erhoffs slapper from the blueline in the Vancouver- Chicago game. The puck was 4 inches outside and the linesman missed it. Damn linesmen need to wakeup.

Rico7 Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 Pens played much better after Malkin left. Kinda like how the Sabres play better without Connolly. I know it won't happen, but I NEVER want to see him on the ice as a Sabre ever again. I like him less then any athlete that has ever played in Buffalo.

Lindy doesn't have the guts to back up the joke. Better to be passive-aggressive.
spndnchz Posted February 5, 2011 Author Report Posted February 5, 2011 Torn MCL and ACL for Malkin. Looks season ending.
Calvin Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 Torn MCL and ACL for Malkin. Looks season ending. the rest of the East must be thanking Myers this afternoon
