LET"S GO BUFFALO Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 When can the Sabres new owner actually start making decisions for the team, http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=551303, this article states that it will take several weeks for the agreement to completely be reviewed by the NHL, so is Pegula not able to make any decisions until after this period. Also when he can make a decision how quick do you think he will pull the trigger? I think he will use Friday's game against Pittsburgh as a real decisive game for certain players who may no longer remain on this team. Sabres had a good night tonight with Losses for Atlanta, Carolina, and possibly Florida. Could be time for the us to make a big push with a big splash in free agency.
LabattBlue Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 Unless TP has a hockey man lined up and ready to go OR he wants to put his trust in DR for the rest of the season, it may be a quiet deadline.

Why wouldn't he? You don't make the sick kind of money he has by not being prepared. He didn't go in front of the NHL last weekend and say "I just thought I would play it ear."

LET"S GO BUFFALO Posted February 2, 2011 Author Report Posted February 2, 2011 He is like a Sabres fan who just ran into a ridiculous amount of money and wants, like so many other Sabres fans to win a cup. I mean you don't by 18 years of season tickets for nothing
RuffMuff Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 I think they dont get rid of anyone without verifing with him at trade dead line. But I see sellers this year. Like DR said, get rid of the older veterans that are not performing and go with the youth. That doesnt sound like a push to the CUP this year, but next year.
Two or less Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 I heard on radio today that Darcy Regier added payroll while Golisano was waiting for the owners to approval him, as Pegula is right now, so, i would assume, if Pegula wants to make the playoffs this year, he must have given Darcy the green light.
gregkash Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 Yeah Darcy added payroll, but keep in mind that team's payroll was like 29 million..
Two or less Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 Yeah Darcy added payroll, but keep in mind that team's payroll was like 29 million.. True, but the radio host said Golisano gave him a green light. If the BOG rejected the deal for whatever reason, the NHL would have re-taken control and had to pay the fee. If Golisano was able to talk to front office and give them a green light, i don't see why Pegula wouldn't be able to, and Ruff said today Pegula had spoken with him, so i gotta believe Pegula and his inner circle has also spoken with Regier. What was said, we don't know.... stay frozen, try to sell, or buy?

I mean you don't by 18 years of season tickets for nothing With the price of good season tickets, maybe he figured it be cheaper to buy the team. j/k I'm really excited for him to take over. Could or would the NHL possibly speed things up to have TP in control before the trade deadline ?
