Can you now honestly tell us who it was that f***ed up the Drury and Briere situation?

...and one specifically for Quinny - Are you still trying to bring Bass Pro to Buffalo even after everyone else has abandoned ship?

I'll add my comment from the Pegula thread here.

I would just like, once more before the sale is final, to thank Tom Golisano for saving the Buffalo Sabres.

Without him stepping in - the city of Buffalo quite possibly would not have a team today.

This.

As for LQ, a punch to the face will suffice.

I wouldn't have anything to say to TG and LQ. While I appreciate their stewardship of the Sabres over the last decade, I am looking at the future now. And the future excites the hell outta me.

Gimme a couple beers to share with Darcy and you'll get alot of questions out of me tho.

Excuse me for interrupting the "OSP Lovefest"...

Call me bitter, but any goodwill Golisano/Quinn earned by buying the team and keeping it in Buffalo was negated by everything that has happened since 7-1-07. Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out of HSBC Arena.

EXACTLY.

I also think Golisano received way too much criticism for the poor on-ice product since May 2007. Do you really think Golisano was the one calling the shots on overpaying Pominville? Or constantly re-signing Connolly? How about the Hecht contract? Gaustad? Rivet? Face it, guys: the money was there for Drury and/or Briere. Regier simply doesn't know how to properly allocate financial resources commensurate with the talent. And, of course, not to deflect blame from the "untouchables" of Ruff, Miller, Vanek, etc... these guys are tops among the most overrated names in the NHL.

EDIT: I do have a question for Tommy Boy...."what are your thoughts on purchasing the Buffalo Bills and keeping them in Buffalo if and when the time comes that they are available for purchase?"

Not to think they'd answer but what would you like to ask (or tell) LQ or TG at the presser on Thursday?

sure. for golisano: what do you stand to clear following your acquisition of the team out of bankruptcy and the signing of the purchase agreement?

i trust that you'll be there with an opportunity to pose these questions, chz.

I'd say I'm around what Katebits wrote today. Golisano was like a rebound relationship. Helped you in getting over your last one but not really the one u wanted.

I don't understand all this venom for Golisano. He was the one that stepped in when we needed a business man to save the team. Its not like there was a line out the door to purchase the bankrupt Buffalo Sabres and keep them in Buffalo, so I'm pretty thankful that he showed up when he was needed.

Two words :

Larry Quinn.

And somewhere Larry Quinn is rubbing his hands together and smirking.

Quinn would actually be a step up from the clowns currently in control of the Bills. Ralph Wilson is one of the worst owners in pro sports history.

As someone who blames LQ for 95 percent of the Sabres' problems, I have to ask what role he played in persuading Golisano to buy the team. As much as this thought makes me cringe -- did he play a role in keeping the Sabres in Buffalo? Any insights (I didn't keep the newspaper clippings and don't remember)?
