Cereal Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 Here are the stats. 32 contestants Everyone but Weave has Montador staying with the team. Five people have Connolly getting traded. Four people have Miller winning less than 36 games.....I set a soft number, but I think I may catch y'all on this one Three people have Stafford with more points than Ennis by the end of the year, which is surprising since Stafford is outpointing him per game and could catch him. I knew the safe play was Ennis, but given all the Stafford love, I thought a few more would take a shot. Only 6 people have the Sabres ending up with less than 87 points, which is interesting because only 13 of 32 think they will make the playoffs, and the average tiebreak was 89.6 points. For so many people to have them with 87 points but not make the playoffs is sticking them in a tight window. 12 of 32 think Gerbe will score 14 or more goals....again a little surprising given his streak and improved play. I set this a little high and you caught me, so I give credit. 8 of 32 think Niedermayer can net 4 goals. That's about where I figured. He's so crappy that 2.5 would have gotten 50/50 or better I think. 3.5 scares everyone off. Thanks Darcy! 9 think Gerbe will get a fighting major. Just a cute little question that went about as expected. With this one, Niedermayer and Montador...I was trying to reward some risk taking. And finally.....the yes vote on Mr. Pegula came in hot and heavy with word coming out in NC to make up for a bevy of early no votes. 17-15 believe he will introduced...now remember....at a press conference, by March 4th. We need to see that sweet lil' fanny sitting in front of the shower curtain for a yes confirmation. Good luck. I'll have fun watching this progress. To nitpick, the three people dot not have Stafford with more points than Ennis, but rather, that Ennis will NOT have more than Stafford. So, a tie would go to those who answered NO to 10)Will Tyler Ennis have more points than Drew Stafford this season? Hey, it could happen! Edit: Thanks for doing this, Ghost! I tried answering all questions without checking the current stats first, and I may regret a couple answers because of it.

The way I look at it, if I bought everyone who is playing a beer, it would cost as much as a jersey is worth. But we get 2 months of action out of it. It's a relative bargain!
wjag Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 From Mike Harrington today.. "Golisano and Quinn said they expect the NHL's Board of Governors to approve the sale prior to the Feb. 28 trade deadline. " I'm thinking I'm one for one... I voted he'd be owner before March..

No, you voted he'd be introduced and attend a press conference before March 4th :D
Two or less Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 No, you voted he'd be introduced and attend a press conference before March 4th :D We'll still win that one.
wjag Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 How about a live look in on where things stand. 1) Will the Sabres make the playoffs this season? At 50% now and seemingly on their way... 2) Will Tim Connolly be a member of the Sabres on March 1, 2011? We'll know soon enough. 3) Will Nathan Gerbe score over 13 1/2 goals this season? Stuck on 6, looking better for the under crowd. 4) Will Terry Pegula be introduced as owner of the Sabres IN A PRESS CONFERENCE on or before March 4, 2011? All but certain 5) Will the Sabres have over 86 1/2 points in the standings? 32 points to go with 58 points available. Looking better.. 6) Will Rob Niedermayer have over 3 1/2 goals this season? No progress at all but he did get a SOG the other game... 7) Will Steve Montador be a member of the Sabres on March 1, 2011? We'll know soon enough. But a concussed player has less trade value. 8) Will Ryan Miller have over 35 1/2 wins this season? Now at 24 Wins with 29 potential W's out there. Looking good. 9) Will Nathan Gerbe have a fighting major by the end of the season? It's not like he doesn't try. 10)Will Tyler Ennis have more points than Drew Stafford this season? Dead even as of 11 Feb with 30 points each. Drew needed a hattie to keep pace.

Its open, so folks can go back and change their answers (I know I would like to change one or two). I resisted the urge - not sure if everyone will?

If the winner feels the need to cheat, Uncle Vito will come and deliver the jersey personally.

bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 Oh well question number 2 got me unless some trade of Timmt hasnt yet been announced maybe he can get waived today???
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted February 28, 2011 Author Report Posted February 28, 2011 I'm 3 for 3! along with 12 others at this point Pretty good cleanout.
wjag Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 I'm 3 for 3, but I'm going to lose the Ennis-Stafford thing unless Ennis picks it up. Of course I'm also at risk with Miller over 35Ws and the team making the playoffs... Thinking positive.
Two or less Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 Instead of saying 3 for 3 i will go ahead and say i'm 3 for 4, because, no way does Niedermayer score 4 goals. lol Not sure what i was thinking.

No progress at all... 7) Will Steve Montador be a member of the Sabres on March 1, 2011? Yes. 8) Will Ryan Miller have over 35 1/2 wins this season? BuffaloFansR_Crazy Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 I am really mad at myself for missing this post!!! What a great idea.

OverPowerYou Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 Neidermeyer goes over 3 goals Btw the sabres can no longer win the president's trophy if anyone was wondering. Vancouver already passed the 102 points mark My prediction is that Vanek-man wins this contest, so far his predictions are the closest to perfect as you can get.

Kane tried his hardest to get Gerbe to get a fighting major too... last night could have been a two answer swing. Neids with a 2 goal game?!?
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted March 22, 2011 Author Report Posted March 22, 2011 I'm glad this is shaping up how I had hoped. The Sabres probably beat the point total, but Miller, Gerbe, Ennis/Stafford and playoffs may all come down to the last game. There are 3 players who are 4/4 and a bunch at 3/4. In the dream scenario....Gerbe scores an empty netter in the last game for his 14th, then is piledrived into the boards during his celebration, at which point he gets up and goes Scott Nichol on someone.

Not at all...plenty still alive. There are so many permutations left with reasonable outcomes. Remember....Gerbe went leg humping against Montreal. Maybe tonight's his night?

What stinks about this contest is that I keep finding myself rooting against Gerbe... He CANT score over 13!!! An even 13 would be perfect
