SwampD Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 you are not making sense dude still confused.
DR HOLLIDAY Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 I am at fault actually, I only caught the third period, I didn't know that Miller started the game, sorry guys.
deluca67 Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 Post Game Presser? I only want to hear Lindy Ruff step down as coach.
themaze2332 Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 I am at fault actually, I only caught the third period, I didn't know that Miller started the game, sorry guys. Thanks for admitting this, most people would not have :) BTW, I am not a dude:) I am a girl who just really loves sports :)
themaze2332 Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 This has become all too typical of the Sabres this year. When they should be looking at a 4pt weekend to close in on 8th place, they lay an absolute egg. Couldn't hit an open net. Couldn't hit an Islander. Hecht has become a wasted roster spot. Myers had his typical brain fart. Weber has learned the brain fart skill from Myers. Connolly was invisible again. The vets are getting shown up by Gerbe and Ennis. Don't understand this team. Goaltending is the least of their concern. Too many tin men. +34875087406

MichFan Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 Don't get placing blame on the goalies tonight. Goal 1- Myers turned the puck over, then kicked the puck through Miller's 5hole. Goal 2 - deflection off slapper from point. Goal 3 - Weber turned puck over, Islander all alone in front of net. Goal 4 - Lalime makes 2 saves, no one bodies up Islander to prevent 3rd attempt.
will Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 didn't see the game, but went looking for nhl records because of gerbe's goals. i'm sure msg probably discussed past records and how he compares to the only two guys that were faster (Nels Stewart in '31, and Deron Quint in '95, both at 4 seconds), but here's an interesting record further down the page i was reading: Longest undefeated streak by a goaltender from start of career: Patrick Lalime, 16 games (1996–97) [sigh]
repster Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 Went to the game tonight. Want my money back.
Hawerchuk Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 you are not making sense dude Agreed. Ah, Miller was not between the pipes tonight. Lalime blew it.
Iron Crotch Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 Lalime is 9-26 as a Sabre, including 0-5 this year. It is getting to the point where it is pretty much a guaranteed loss when he starts. There are always apologists who point out that he'd be better if he played more (which is probably true to some extent), that the team didn't play well in front of him, that he only let in one or two bad ones, etc. But, the bottom line is he is paid for this role... to sit the bench for two weeks and come in and play a reasonable game. In a league where teams only average about 2.5 to 3 goals per game, even one bad goal against is a killer.

We've known that for a few years now and the powers that be have refused to address the problem. Management needs to go.

WHY RE-SIGN someone if you don't plan on using him? Although, all of you keep bringing up him playing more and/or "sit the bench for two week and come in and play a reasonable game." Based on expectations, your post holds no truth. Do I think Lalime is the answer? NO! Is he is the reason we are not in the playoff race NO! Beyond that, has he even played enough for people to add their two cents? NO.

bunomatic Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 Beyond that, how come you're not so concerned about how UNDERPRODUCTIVE hecht and connolly are? Come on now. Do you have a crush on Lalime? He wasn't talking about Hecht or Connolly. He was talking about Lalime.
PromoTheRobot Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 Everyone here is so hung up on Lalime that were oblivious to the absolutely bone-headed plays that led to the two goals he gave up. Twice an Islander player had all day to shoot, and/or get multiple rebounds, without a Sabre within 10 feet of them. I don't care who is in goal. That is beer league hockey. PTR
Kristian Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 "I didn't like the start of the game, not at all," Ruff said, noting the Sabres were down 2-0 while being outshot 10-3 before the game was 11 minutes old. "I didn't like our first shift. It wasn't good enough." Lindy Ruff Hockey - Unprepared.

LaLaLaFontaine Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 I only watched the 6 minutes video on nhl.com. We got some garbage goals, on the positive side Natahan Gerbe made a pair of goals, which could have come from a superstar. I hope we can get back on track. Pat
Marvelo Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 I think Connelly is done. Too many hits to the head. Cut him and move on.
korab rules Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 Ennis has Neudermyer for a line mate??? I think it's spelled neuteredmeyer.

PTR WADR, go back and look at just about any Game Discussion thread from a Lalime start and this exact post (or a variant thereof) is in the thread after we lose. Yes, the team made some obvious errors, but goalies should make the save once in a while to compensate for those errors. Miller does it all the time, we just take that for granted. I'm not saying that a backup should be as good as Miller, only that we never, ever seem to get the big "save the team's bacon" save from Lalime until we're already down a couple of goals. Regardless of who to blame, it is clear the team almost never wins when Lalime is in there...
rbochan Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 I think it's spelled neuteredmeyer. Niedstoretire.
DR HOLLIDAY Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 Niedstoretire. LOL, that is perfect.......my contribution is Niedstoplayfortheleafs...... Huge disappointment this year......

Regardless of who to blame, it is clear the team almost never wins when Lalime is in there... Really? I don't think you are really paying attention then. Miller doesn't do any of what you are saying, and sitting around 25th in sv% and gaa suggests that. and i'm so sick of hearing it's the defenses fault. BS he needs to make the damn saves no matter how hard they are, that's his only job on this team. Miller, "save the team's bacon", that is hilarious, because that so rarely happens maybe it is more noticeable when it actually does. LOL Not asking a lot, but if Miller was just top 20 in sv% and gaa the team may have, oh I dunno, maybe 6, 8, 10 more points and a hell of a lot closer to 5th place than sitting 11th. Just sayin.
