nfreeman Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 Well, if they have really turned the corner and are prepared to act like grownups on a consistent basis, they will bring it tonight. I think I would play Lalime and let Miller play Sunday and Tuesday. I'm still happy about last night, but a crappy performance tonight will get rid of that real quick.

I'm still in disbelief they got crushed on the Island last weekend. Are the Isles this year's Atlanta?
shrader Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 I'm missing it. Who wants to text me updates?
CallawaySabres Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 I say a crushing tonight by Buff with big let down on Sunday. This is where I would ask Miller if he would rather start tonight or Sunday and roll with that.....Friday at Home against the team that rolled you last week could be good timing for Lalime.
spndnchz Posted January 21, 2011 Author Report Posted January 21, 2011 Hoppe: Kaleta got a new cast, he's playing tonight. Stafford out.
R_Dudley Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 No predictions in tonight's thread after I tried that in last nights although my win prediction did hold. This team is entertaining again and pulling me back in. I have had to forego this site a bit due to work and family responsibilites but I catch up on the threads and posts as I can. Vanek has really been playing like the player we all expected him to be. I like the idea of him for captain but just not sure if Ruff would do it especially the way he treats him with ice time the way he does and why not throw him out there on a PK with Pommers when we need a push every now and then and reward his play. Miller has played better of late and had a solid game last night but as someone else noted he his going down way to early/easily and has teams shooting high and for posts because of that. Regardless I do not think Lindy will ever put Lalime in unless Miller has that 4 goal in 10 minute meltdown that all goalies go through occasionally. Real happy to see the defense playing better of late and the fact Lindy has finally been doing what he always says he'll do and reward good solid play with more icetime aka Meyers diminished minutes last night. He needs to practice what he preaches for the team to believe what he's saying. I am curious to see how we fill the opening w/kaleta out. My guess is Rivet or Butler in and a Gragnani up to forward sticking with the 7dman and 11 forward formula that has been working for Lindy. That's my guess vs. them calling anyone up from the farm.Updated that Kaleta guess with update from Chz after my original post We need to beat this Islander team tonight no excuses, we really need it. Like the players are saying in quotes, if they can win the next 3 going into the break it will make for a nice layoff for the team and make the hockey after the break really fun down the stretch. Lets Go Buf'a'lo make it so.
darksabre Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 Sabres win tonight. Vanek keeps rollin.
spndnchz Posted January 21, 2011 Author Report Posted January 21, 2011 DiPietro didn't make the trip. He got the flu.
wonderbread Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 DiPietro didn't make the trip. He got the flu. Well that didn't take long.
shrader Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 Well that didn't take long. It's tough to hold the flu against his reputation though.
SwampD Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 It's tough to hold the flu against his reputation though. Actually, it's quite easy.
shrader Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 Actually, it's quite easy. From all the stories I heard about DiPietro's history in his one year out here in Boston, I'd suspect that he's actually having a flare up of herpes right now.

So the hip injury isn't from playing goalie, it's from playing 'goalie'?
deluca67 Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 Is Lalime in net tonight? This is one of the games in hand on Atlanta. You can't risk that on Lalime.
Swedesessed Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 This is one of the games in hand on Atlanta. You can't risk that on Lalime. Is there any game the Sabres can risk on Lalime besides preseason games?
deluca67 Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 Is there any game the Sabres can risk on Lalime besides preseason games? I would play him against Pittsburgh, Philly or Washington. Those are really tough points to get even with Miller in net.
OverPowerYou Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 Is this the first time all year (besides the 1st game) that Buffalo has a winning record? Not counting overtime losses.
deluca67 Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 Is this the first time all year (besides the 1st game) that Buffalo has a winning record? Not counting overtime losses. Don't get me started.
SwampD Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 The kid's in bed. The wife's in Florida. Just lit a fire. Just opened a Blue that was air chilled outside. The game's in HD. Life's good. LET'S GO BUFFALO!!!!
Fire Lindy Ruff NOW Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 haha harry neale has good analogies. mike weber gives some sand paper to the buffalo defense.
