Oakstream Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 10 points behind Atlanta, 4 games in hand. Need to win all of those, lets start tonight. Is Kaleta back yet?
CallawaySabres Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 this is the first game where it feels like they have no chance of winning to me. I think it will take A LOT of effort just to keep this within a goal in the third period. Gut tells me 5-2 Montreal and hope is fading fast as far as willing these guys to win. My goal for this team is to at least stay within 6 points of a playoff spot the remainder of the season so I can try and give myself some sort of a reason to go to the games......
R_Dudley Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 Important game, need to play well against the teams ahead of us, Running out of time, Need balanced scoring,Best players need to be the best players, Miller needs to start to play like last year, click, this is a recording, click.

bunomatic Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 In Mike Harringtons article Ruff said he didn't expect the team to get a lot of chances. Here's a new concept for you Lindy. Try and out coach the other guy. Way to instil confidence in the team. Fact is you should have come right out and said that you don't think we can beat these guys. It amounts to the same thing. Miller will get hung out again tonight and the way he's playing this one could get ugly. All the slow reptiles on this team will get schooled by Montreals speed. Its hard to feel confident about this one.
Realist Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 I've lost complete faith in this team to beat any of the teams above them. 4-1 Montreal.

Coaches and players on this team have totally forgot how to instill a winning attitude...

I'm also relieved I don't have to keep pointing out this kind of comment that goes back many, many years with this assclown, asshat, asswipe (just wondering which one the eye in the sky will strike).
SMIRNOFF Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 They'll beat Montreal tonight and then render it useless by losing to the Islanders again.
Weave Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 So, I see in another thread that Luke Adam is back in Portland. That leaves Buffalo with one disinterested scoring center, 1 defensive specialist who only shows up in contract years, one faceoff specialist who can't skate or shoot, and a pugilist. Montreal ain't got a chance !!!

I haven't read the story, but that partial reference there feels like it's missing something along the lines of "we won't get many chances so you have to make the most of what you do get". I'm fine with all the anti-Ruff stuff, but if that is what he actually said, it's nothing more than coach speak and I have no problem with it at all.

Wouldn't you rather Lindy take the fanboi approach and laud over his great players and tell of all the wonderful scoring chances they will get. If that's what fans want, they should just hire Ronan Tynan. The magnificent Buffalo Sabres!!

He said Price has been very good and the Habs have been good at collapsing down low around him. There's nothing missing that makes the quote sound any better than it does -- defeatist. He went on to say the key to dealing with a team like that is to get a couple goal lead and take them out of their system. Then he added, typically, "With the way we've been offensively, we're a little bit challenged there." Lindy is a dark and depressing person. The team reflects that.

But don't forget, he'll get snatched up immediately after he leaves Buffalo, and will win coach of the year EVERY year. Cause with a REAL roster..... I tell ya...!

I heard LINDY say this morning that maybe later on in the week, he''ll be able to play. I would be happy with him coming back, at least we would have another player besides McCORMICK that shows a little fire.
hockeyhound Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 After listening to Professor Ruff yesterday one might think the Sabres have a snowballs chance in hell of winning tonight. However, I did watch the Calgary vs. Habs game last night and it was a demonstration that the Canadians can be had. It was good to see Kotalik playing well. Several posts ago I talked about Gerbe playing a little mans opportunistic game and I am glad to see Gerbe above the circles instead of down on the wall. I believe he can be more effective if he has big men retrieve the puck for him so he can concentrate on getting into a scoring position. I don't think we have seen Gerbes best game yet. Maybe he can take the weekend and have a St. Louis movie marathon. I don't know if anyone remembers the last time the Sabres played the Habs but it was horriable. I was suprised that Lindy tried the run and gun strategy with them. The Sabres seem to play them best when they make it an all out defensive game whereby they remain patient and try for the 1-0, 2-1 game. Lock it down and play opportunistic! It worked for Czechoslovakia in the 70's against Russia, a faster and more creative team.

You forgot the RW's That leaves Buffalo with one disinterested scoring RW, 1 offensive specialist who only shows up in contract years, one faceoff specialist who can't skate or shoot, and a pugilist. And the LW's That leaves Buffalo with one disinterested scoring LW, 1 offensive specialist midget, one midget who can't skate or shoot, and a classy black man.

ROC Sabres Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 Another loss! Aren't you mister happy pants. I'm currently passing the time watching "Alive",I hate watching it but can't turn away, and still think the Sabres have a chance (and it's not cuz of the movie).
CallawaySabres Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 ever heard of catching the puck Miller? Freakin' idiot......
