LGR4GM Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 omg Darcy wouldnt know out of shape if it hit him in the face look at Torres and YES the sabres should actively pursue Mark Streit as a PP guy for us and he could be too old and injured but up til this year hes been a rock so why not.

Sell the vets who arent producing and find guys that can. Leadership remains a problem on this team. Brad Richards would fix that wouldnt he.
inkman Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 According to Matt Barnaby, Richards is someone Sabres would "ask" about but he'd "never" waive his NTC to come to Buffalo. Was this before Buffalo was declared "hockey heaven"?
LGR4GM Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 Its more likely we will get Stephen Weiss out of florida who has 324 pts in 541 games. Hes about the size of roy and idk hes gotta be better than connolly... right? IDK I think if we do anything it will be minor and we should look to the summer for rebuilds. :wallbash:
LGR4GM Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 Eklund (yes ik not that reliable) has wiess to buffalo as a (e2) so kinda likely but he has a NMC just so you know.
Stoner Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 Eklund (yes ik not that reliable) has wiess to buffalo as a (e2) so kinda likely but he has a NMC just so you know. Nothing Eklund says is kinda likely. This is a recording.
LGB Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 Colorado Avalanche defenseman John-Michael Liles(notes) reportedly is available and will waive his no-trade clause to come to Buffalo, where he could play with his old college buddy from Michigan State, goaltender Ryan Miller(notes).
sabresnutinphoenix Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 Nothing Eklund says is kinda likely. This is a recording. too funny...Does any of Ecklund's trades ever come to pass?
Iron Crotch Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 too funny...Does any of Ecklund's trades ever come to pass? In the case of the Sabres, I can't think of a single one of his "rumors" that ever came true. Not even one. If I recall correctly, normally the guy we pick up is one not even mentioned by Eck.
carpandean Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 The problem with rumors is that, even if you were on the inside, only 10% of your rumors would come true. A GM can negotiate with five other teams for a player, then decide not to accept any offer. Does that mean that listing that team as talking with those five others about that player was a bad rumor when it doesn't happen? No. Of course, that means that you can make up whatever you want and do just about as well as those who really are "in the know."
Marvelo Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 here's from dobberhockey, one of the top fantasy sites: the remainder of players should allow us to predict who could be on the move next. Andrew Cogliano is a great example. Edmonton is young enough that they can afford to move Cogliano and a new home could do him wonders. Sam Gagner is another possibility, but he is doing a better job of cementing himself into a top-six role in EDM. Other players who could be on the move would include TJ Oshie, Jakub Voracek, Artem Anisimov, Tom Gilbert, Michael del Zotto, and TJ Galiardi. Of that group, I'd take a chance on Sam Gagner.

Some big names there. 1. Oshie, 2. Voracek, 3. Gagner for me
LGR4GM Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 we arent gonna do crap and darcy will keep his job because there just wasnt a trade out there to help us. I have no hope going into tomorrow this team will change enough to count for anything this year or next. :wallbash:
stepped IN zhitnik Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 I want Oshie or Weiss and put em on the first line with Vanek and Kassian (available Monday night)
bunomatic Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 I want Oshie or Weiss and put em on the first line with Vanek and Kassian (available Monday night) Hopefully Regier doesn't trade Zack as I really want to see him wreck havoc in a sabres jersey next year. Or possibly this post season?
papazoid Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 Sabres acquire sniper Brad Boyes from St Louis: http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=6166050 good size HT: 6-0 WT: 204 and the one stat i really like....he was the third best plus/minus on STL with +11.

papazoid Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 for a team that plays trap like they do, is that really good? yes it's really good. first of all the actual number +11 is not as important as the fact that within whatever system the team played he was the third best plus minus on that team.....look at any teams Top 3 plus minus guys....those are the better players.
