CallawaySabres Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 how do we not send anyone after the guy who took out millers legs? totally legal play good win finally found the car ahh EA To bed
Weave Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 It's not easy being a Sabres fan If it were easy then anyone could do it. :wallbash:
Marvelo Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 Why can't Chokin' Jochen and Matador just clear the puck out of the zone? Especially at crucial times? That's at least twice this game for Jochen. Maybe Jochen wants to be traded? Or he's too tired and is asking to be benched? Also when's the last time Grier actually scored a goal? I want Mancari!
X. Benedict Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 I really wonder if I'm ever going to get over 2006. Both teams have completely different rosters now, I've never been to Raleigh, and we really don't have any other history with them. But I don't care. Because I effing hate the Hurricanes. I don't want them to ever win a game again ever. I think there's at least a 50% chance that I'm still pissed off about this when I'm 90 years old. I won't even be able to recognize my family because of the Alzheimer's yet somehow I'll still know to fly into an uncontrollable rage at the sight of a Hurricanes logo. Yes! Yes! Come to the Darkside. - Feel it within you...Raping and Pillaging in Raleigh is your birthright, young Padawan ...feel it growing within you..Yes!
LabattBlue Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 I was so disgusted by the offseason and then the play of the team since the season started, that I don't believe that I have posted any game related comments this year...until now. For anyone who believes that Lindy Ruff should stay on as HC beyond this year, explain why Stafford and Ennis were the two forwards on the ice with the Sabres protecting a 2 goal lead in the last minute of the game. Oh by the way, Carolina scored their 2nd goal while these two were on the ice. Pegula needs to clean house completely and anything less will be status quo.
shrader Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 No one has posted anything about RJ and Harry poking fun at the Canes' rookie center Skinner? RJ: "I'll tell you something, if this Carolina team makes the playoffs and they grow their beards, Skinner's gonna have to do something, because he looks like a 12-year old." HN: "He'll have to buy one of those fake ones." Good to have him back! One thing to add: It still seems as though Montador's off his game <_< I think you got the quotes reversed there. I'm pretty sure it was Harry that initially brought up the playoff beard thing. But anyway, yes, I enjoyed that. I know most people around here aren't too crazy about Harry Neale, but I do enjoy the pairing. There's something so unintentionally funny about all of their old guy rants. That's why I enjoyed the stuff about Skinner so much. It was two guys who are a combined 325 years old joking about an 18 year old. I get such a Statler and Waldorf vibe from those two.
MattPie Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 i remember even a few sabres were crying after losing to the hurricanes. I did.
Eleven Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 PA, I hope you DVRed the game and saved it for reference. THAT is what a silent arena sounds like. Not the arena on opening night, but the arena on January 13 when the team is ten points out. Except for boos on the BS penalty, a couple of "OOOOHs" on near-goals, three goal celebrations, and one half-assed let's go Buffalo chant, I had no problem carrying on a conversation at normal speaking volume. Frankly, I could have whispered.
Buffalo Wings Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 totally legal play good win finally found the car ahh EA To bed I don't know...maybe my blue & gold glasses are still on, but it didn't seem like the Carolina fwd was doing his best to avoid Miller. Of course, Ryan could have embellished things a bit. :o

LINDY lives in Bizzaro world, where doing the complete opposite of what should be done is the norm.
X. Benedict Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 LINDY lives in Bizzaro world, where doing the complete opposite of what should be done is the norm. I wondered about the decision...but it wasn't so bizarre... Stafford had some monster possession shifts in that game so you let him take his normal shift. The question is only why Ennis. A two goal lead isn't a bad time to test his chops.
OverPowerYou Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 I was at the game last night and I notice a few things. 1. Neither team was hitting/checking that much. 2. Yes, the crowd is actually louder than you think, but that's only during commercials. 3. Our section 315/316 was the only one that tried to get cheers going. I then realized the arena was full of nothing but stiffs. 4. Both teams played somewhat good defense yet still allowed a lot of odd-man rushes. 5. Buffalo would score 7-8 goals every game if they knew how to stick handle and shoot the puck.
darksabre Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 I did. I keep this picture of Mair around as a reminder.

Watching that level of hockey is always a treat. Would've been nice to win the 50/50 though...

Fire Lindy Ruff NOW Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 I did. really? i was more angry than sad i guess.
Robviously Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 Apparently the Sabres can't even get the names of their own players right on their jerseys: http://galleries.buffalonews.com/photo.php?gname=gallery_1294973809.txt&item=6 NEIDERMAYER. One more thing for Pegula to fix...
Sterling Archer Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 They practiced at the Pepsi Center again this morning. It seemed like a pretty lighthearted mood. Also, Gerbe is tiny.

The best are when the team name itself is spelled wrong.

The best are when the team name itself is spelled wrong. The L.A. Angels make rookies wear jerseys with "ANGEES" across the chest but at least that's intentional. That would be cool if the Sabres could screw up their alternate uniforms by spelling "Buffalo" with a "W" at the end. BUFFALOW?
