korab rules Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 OK - just a couple other things worth mentioning: I can understand your disappointment in Gerbe, but come on-- the next guy in Portland is Luke Adam who is already proving to be a bust and the last thing this team needs is another Paul Gaustad-- except twice as big, twice as slow, and no faceoff ability, ie Mancari. Look, we understand you have a fascination with flashy guys with quick hands, hence your love of Connolly, Ennis and Xander Crewes, but I think someone has been slipping PCP in your weed. Calling Luke Adam a bust? Slow? I know that as Sabre fans we aren't used to watching guys taller than 6' tall skate, but he is anything but slow and has been playing better every game. Give the kid a chance - he will be a big part of the future of this team. No arguing there. I also think, that he was TOO good of a GM in his "prime" and has many scared off because he has so many lopsided deals. I was once watching a TSN special on the trade deadline and they interviewed a GM who said you always want to win a trade, but you also want to be fair in return because then you'd look bad to your peers and people will lose respect in you. It made me think of Darcy. I do think he's handcuffed by the upper management, but, it's NOT just that, as you mention. Darcy has done a lot to shoot himself in the foot. Just like how Criag Patrick got fired in Pittsburgh, that time may be here. Patrick did A LOT of good but just couldn't finish the job so they replaced him with someone who had slightly different ideas who can ADD to what Patrick had already build. I still support Darcy but i do think it's time for a change. So Regier shouldn't have done his job so well? He shouldn't have gotten the best deal he could? I would prefer my GM do the best he can in every deal and I be forced to replace him every six months because he has fleeced all the other GM's and no one will take his calls. Luke Adam an Tyler ennis hanging sekera out to dry. Don get me wrong, Andrej didn't make q good play but his teammates absolutely blew it. Rookie mistake? Bad coaching? You pick. Sekera's linemates were gassed and changing. Sekera has to sneak a peek over his shoulder to make sure someone is there, or at least hear them or Miller letting him know he's covered, before blindly throwing a puck away like that. Speaking of which, I think Weber has been their best defenseman since that time. Just solid. I hate to say it, but I told you so. He's the new Jay McKee.
