bunomatic Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 7 or 8 powerplays. Should have won that game.
nfreeman Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 And 3.5 years after Black Sunday, this team still has no heart.
CallawaySabres Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 Nice work Hecht you German Dbag....ever finish a game before. I cannot wait until this season is over and I NEVER HAVE TO SEE CONNOLLY AGAIN. This team needs a finisher so badly it's disgusting. That was a great game to watch and it is a REAL shame Hecht and Ennis blew it.
SwampD Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 Other than the ending, that was a pretty good farging game.
carpandean Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 So, which is worse: an own goal off of a defenseman's stick/skate or stopping your own goal when it's almost all the way across the line? That was terrible coverage by Myers and Morrison on that game winner. I do hate to say that, if he can improve the mechanics a bit, KS could actually be a pretty good play-by-play guy. You can't teach someone to have a good voice; he came by it naturally.

Iron Crotch Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 I thought Myers looked really bad for most of the night. At times he almost looked a bit lost. He and Timmy were both -2 on the night.
JJFIVEOH Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 Time to rest Miller. He needs to be in top form when he plays the Hurricanes next week since I'll be there. How any coach can have a starting goaltender at 26th in the league in save % yet still feel the need to start him 16 straight games is beyond me. I don't care how bad they think Patty is. That was one hell of a game though!
wallybarthman Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 The call on Ennis was well sold. The ref standing right there didn't call it - the stripe 70 feet away did. That being said we beat ourselves tonight - plain and simple.
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 I do hate to say that, if he can improve the mechanics a bit, KS could actually be a pretty good play-by-play guy. You can't teach someone to have a good voice; he came by it naturally. I like him. He missed a couple things and Razor jumped in with some friendly help like a good teammate. The game at least seemed entertaining when I flipped back from football. Western conference games are more exciting with this team.
Stoner Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 Classic mental midget goal surrendered by the Sabres. What a bunch of fragile little children. You counting the one in net?
Stoner Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 Ennis owes Luke Adam a free punch. Only this team could screw up that bad. Also, I'm pretty happy with Sylvester on the PBP. Kevin called a good game. I want the overhead of that Adam shot to play on a loop at Lindy's going away party. Classic. Hey, crash the net, boys, keep your stick on the ice. Unbelievable.
Robviously Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 And 3.5 years after Black Sunday, this team still has no heart. Considering the team took the game over in the 3rd period and came from behind to take the lead, and then had the game won except for the flukiest non-goal I have ever seen (Adam-Ennis), it's really tough to pin this one on the team's "lack of heart." Bottom line is that the team isn't good enough. The veterans aren't that great and the young players are still learning.

Fans who don't know what the ###### they are looking at always point to the most simple-minded explanation. Are you working on your physics assignment to prove that puck was in the net? Was it you who tried to prove Music City Miracle was a forward pass?
repster Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 Rob Neidermeyer. Get him off this team. He does absolutely nothing. NOTHING! He is the most useless player - he shows no hustle, provides no results and isn't strong on the puck. He gives it away time and time again. He doesn't even look like he cares. This team had no business had losing this game tonight. You couldn't have had more chances and not score if you were the only guy left on the earth and you walk into every single bar filled with women and booze and not get it. I liked their hustle for the most part - but they should have one this one. It's a partially wasted effort, but it feels worse than it should with just the consolation point. At least I have Canada tomorrow to calm me down, but right now I'm pissed.
Robviously Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 There was a discussion about this earlier. Fans who don't know what the ###### they are looking at always point to the most simple-minded explanation. The team has definitely lacked heart at times in the years since Black Sunday. I don't think tonight was one of those times. They definitely hustled and Colorado's goalie was the only thing keeping them in the game. Are you working on your physics assignment to prove that puck was in the net? Was it you who tried to prove Music City Miracle was a forward pass? It was engineers at RIT who proved the ball went forward on that play. Why wouldn't you trust engineers? If my life depended on it and we could know for sure, I'd say that puck was all the way over the line for an instant. But from that replay, there was no way they could call it a goal. If we asked Adam and Ennis to re-create that play again in practice, I doubt they could do it again if we gave them 10 hours. Unreal. What would you even tell them as a coach? "Don't do that thing that no one else has ever managed to do again."?
kishoph Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 ( insert any SABRE's name) "Get him off this team. He does asolutely nothing. NOTHING! He is the most useless player - he shows no hustle, provides no results and isn't strong on the puck. He gives it away time and time again. He doesn't even look like he cares". When you're coached by a loser, it's hard not to turn into one. LINDY needs to go.
repster Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 Outside of what happened tonight, anybody else think that Tyler Ennis is starting to resemble Max Afinogenov? So many similarities, good and bad. He is still young, I hope he can improve on some of his bad (young?) habits, but to me he could change his number from #63 to #61 and I wouldn't know the difference.

Just because the guy was good in the 90s when Lindy was his (assistant) coach in Florida doesn't mean he'll still be good in 2011!

Said this same thing ( close to it ) many games ago. Though the kid isn't that screwed in the head yet.
