darksabre Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 This team should play the entire game with the empty net. This is the first effort I've seen all night.
87168 Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 if penalties were goals we'd be killin em haha
PromoTheRobot Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 Stay classy Flames. Go ahead and pad your stats. But I guess any team that hands you a 2-man advantage deserves it. PTR
bunomatic Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 Methinks the rest of the season is going to be a long drawn out degrading slide into the depths of the standings.
87168 Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 absolutely horrible. Once again this team demonstrates that until they clean house they WILL not be consistent nor will they be playoff contenders.
biodork Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 Kaleta makes it respectable. Like Klingons it's important to die well. PTR Well so much for that. Nice Star Trek reference, though.
Stoner Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 I'll give you that one PA. Regardless of hitting Montys stick he should have had that one. It's hilarious how Rick, Harry, Robby, Roby, Marky, Marky Mark, Kevin and the entire broadcast crew have to look for every possible way to bail out Ryan Miller. Maybe the puck hit the d-man's stick and changed direction a tiny bit, maybe it didn't. Who cares.
thesportsbuff Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 So if we lose in Edmonton is Ruff back on the hot seat or what?
bob_sauve28 Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 How often do Sabres score off of one time passes?
Two or less Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 Passing is terrible. Moving the puck up the ice is terrible. The PP is terrible. There is no pace to this team, there is no flow, this team just plain out sucks. If it's the talent or the coach, i don't know, im just a dude who sits at home or goes to the bar to watch the games, but, i pray to god Pegula hires somebody who will know and figure it out because if this is on Ruff, he must be gone ASAP.... even before they fire Darcy Regier. This team is pathetic right now. It was like watching the NY Islanders on a really boring day and tuning on center ice and having a game on the tube.
SwampD Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 So if we lose in Edmonton is Ruff back on the hot seat or what? When has Ruff ever been on it?
thesportsbuff Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 When has Ruff ever been on it? Well, probably never in management's eyes, but at least back in November a lot of hockey writers were questioning whether it was time for him to leave. Just the other day I read some Yahoo! writer saying Ruff was "off the hot seat."
Weave Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 You can't judge the Sabres by tonights game. They have no 1st or 2nd line center in the lineup and Myers was out. There are 3rd and 4th line forwards on every line. *disclaimer* this statement in no way defends lousy games earlier in the season. the team still sucks, just not as bad as this game would indicate.
Two or less Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 When has Ruff ever been on it? Agreed. Many fans want him gone, and rightfully so it seems, and i know what Jack means because i did read a few people say he's on the "hot seat" but theres no way they'd fire him mid-season, and with a new owner coming, it makes it even more impossible.

They've have 3rd and 4th line forwards on every line for three years. Tonight is no different.

Just the other day I read some Yahoo! writer saying Ruff was "off the hot seat." Gotcha. I truly believe that without the lockout he would have been gone six years ago. It would be interesting to see where this team would be now. Oh, well. Another lost year.
Weave Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 They've have 3rd and 4th line forwards on every line for three years. Tonight is no different. hyperbole.
87168 Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 How often do Sabres score off of one time passes? How often do they score? Seldom! How often do they fan on one timers? All the time!
SwampD Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 hyperbole. Not really. You want hyperbole? Tonight, we had AHL players on every line. It might be hyperbole but it's not really that far from the truth.
darksabre Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 At least the LA/San Jose game is streaming. I needed some good hockey to wash the throwup taste out of my mouth.
JohnRobertEichel Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 Why is everyone so angry around here? It's your own fault if you were anticipating a different result. In fact, I'm no time traveler but I'll let you in on a little secret: the Sabres lose tomorrow night as well. There. Now you can go relax and spend tomorrow night doing something more productive and fulfilling with your lives than watch a lame duck organization go through the motions. It is better for your health to NOT watch these Sabres until next October, when names like Regier and Ruff and Quinn and Connolly and Niedermayer and Rivet will be distant memories.
Doohicksie Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 I'll tell you what- The Red Wings just played the second game of a back-to-back without two of their top forwards (Cleary and Datsyuk) and missing a top D-man (Rafalski), and Osgood tied his personal best for number of saves in a game to steal one for the Red Wings. I used to think the Sabres had that kind of potential, but it's been so long since Miller stole a game, I'm starting to think it's time to move him. What kind of package do you think we could get for, say, Miller, Weber, Grier and Hecht?
