bunomatic Posted December 26, 2010 Report Posted December 26, 2010 i didnt make a point since i asked a question, but may i ask why you like the sabres? being as your from bc and thats on the oppisite side of continent and your canadian. I've liked the sabres since i was about 10 and i fell in love with the french connection and everything about the sabres. I wore number 11 all through minor hockey. My brother was a huge Islanders fan. My entire family are hockey players and fans of hockey and my dad always encouraged us to follow whatever team we wanted, not just the local team( the canucks). In fact I've never liked the canucks and never felt I had to just because it is the trendy thing to do when they are your local team. Most of my friends(locally) are philly, boston, montreal, fans which are all east coast. No matter how bad things get with this team, its management, whatever, I can never turn my back on them or stop supporting them. I don't know why,its a part of me. Thats about it. I do see more sabres fans here that are around my age rather than younger fans. I guess the younger fans would grab onto them if there was something to associate with like a championship. The older guys are more in it for the glory days I guess. The series against Philly etc.I guess the part about being Canadian doesn't come into it for me because at one time the team was probably made up of about 80% Canadians anyways. I think thats evened out what with the euroes and Americans in recent years.
