deluca67 Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 20 seconds after the Sabres score Bruins announcer Jack Edwards is commenting on how dead the crowd is even after the Sabres score. He must be doing play by play off of the TV feed.
BuffaloFansR_Crazy Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 Stafford! Good to see him score...Roy looked disgusted that he missed the open net.

He must be doing play by play off of the TV feed. Ironic after the horn discussion today that the Sabres scored and the horn wasn't blasting because of the confusion surrounding Roy's chances. Man, it was a mausoleum in there before the horn kicked in. After 20 some years, folks are just not used to having to make noise when the Sabres score.
notwoz Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 What's the big deal? It doesn't go off all that often. :w00t:
ParkMeadow Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 Just talked to someone at the game and much as I hate Jack Edwards, he is correct in his assessment of the funereal deadness of the crowd. Weird game so far...

The Bruins Studio team is talking about the lack of desperation and intensity by the Sabres. If Tampa wins and the Sabres lose your looking at a 10 point deficit. also, I think the Lucic penalty will stop any 'officials cost us the game' talk, at least by Sabre fans.

BuffalOhio Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 How does someone come to hate Jack Edwards? Listen to him broadcast a game once. What a jackass.
Stoner Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 Roby's on a roll -- Svengali and panacea in the same segment!

How about the poor bastards that can't function without the direction of the kiss-cam?

Think it has anything to do with the fact that the Sabres are largely a bunch of stiffs?
deluca67 Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 Listen to him broadcast a game once. What a jackass. I have and I am now? What makes him a jackass? He seems to know what he is talking about. Much more professional then the clowning around that goes on during the Sabres broadcasts.
ParkMeadow Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 How does someone come to hate Jack Edwards? You are so right to call me out on this! I don't "hate" anyone. I detest the way he announces a game. Homer doesn't even begin to describe his modus operandi!
bob_sauve28 Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 You think that is bad? How about the poor bastards that can't function without the direction of the kiss-cam? Ha ha!! Good one
bob_sauve28 Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 That Thorton is a pretty good player

deluca67 Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 That Thorton is a pretty good player That entire line has caused the Sabres some issues tonight.
ParkMeadow Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 You must "detest" RJ and Harry? You don't get more "homer" than those two. Unfortunately (or fortunately to you) I almost never get to hear RJ and Harry here in NH!

Try comparing them to a VS or NBC broadcast.

Try comparing them to a VS or NBC broadcast. It would nice if they actually talked hockey once in awhile. Rarely do they offer any actual insight into the game.
Iron Crotch Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 I really hate that automatic delay of game penalty for shooting the puck out.
ROC Sabres Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 I really hate that automatic delay of game penalty for shooting the puck out. Especially since it doesn't apply to players that catch the puck and throw it into the 300 level.
BuffaloFansR_Crazy Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 It would nice if they actually talked hockey once in awhile. Rarely do they offer any actual insight into the game. That's the beauty of them. They are simultaneously doing a radio broadcast so all they do is call the game. They don't waste time spewing a bunch of nonsense like other broadcasters. They use the intermissions to talk hockey.
BuffaloFansR_Crazy Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 I really hate that automatic delay of game penalty for shooting the puck out. Why? Wouldn't teams just constantly throw it over the boards whenever the other team had pressure on them?
