Not complaining at all but are they really that young?

 

Shakira will be 25, Gerbe 24 and Cody 29 before the summer ends. I picture hockey young more like Ennis or Myers. By the time ur 24-25 you should be great, veteran leader type IMO.

How about "new talent"? Will that work for ya? B-)

 

Next year's top six: Vanek, Roy, Stafford---Ennis, Gerbe and X (free agent) ? With Adam, Pommer, McCormick as a third line

I think you could reasonably call Sekera and Gerbe young. I figure that a hockey player's prime begins around 25 -- they reach their peak strength but are still years away from being old.

 

If you go by that estimate, then Sekera is right on track to be a great part of the team for years to come and Gerbe may be turning into the player we wanted him to be.

Actually, Gerbe's been playing this well and this hard the entire season. He just hasn't been scoring.

 

 

Not even close, was he benched because he was playing this way ? Even if he hadn't scored the goals his play has so much improved, the 1st half of the season he couldn't hold on to the puck for more than a second without it going off his stick for a turnover.
