My Prediction: Tampa Bay folds

Out of the teams currently in the Top 8, I really don't see Tampa making it into the playoffs. Bad goaltending, terrible defense, they allow 3.5 goals per game and currently have a -12 goal differential. That's simply an unsustainable pace to continue at above .500.

 

They have a decent offense which is bailing them out for the time being, but every offense goes through a couple major slumps during the course of a season. When Tampa hits theirs, they will begin to hemorrhage points for lack of an ability to keep the puck out of the net.

 

When this happens, some team is going to be there to pick up the pieces. Whether it's us, Ottawa, Florida, Carolina...that will be the interesting part.
