Stoner Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 Stevie got me to wondering if any Sabres are on Twitter. Any players have Facebooks, blogs, web sites etc.? Live webcams? The only player I can think of is Thomas Vanek with his website that he occasionally writes on. It's a shame, really, that the Sabres aren't more plugged into the Internet, both in official and unofficial capacities. Yes, the web site is heads and shoulders above where it was a few years ago, but it still seems so impersonal. It's also a shame that the players have probably been strongly advised not to dabble in it. If I was a player, though, I'd certainly be getting my message out without the filter of the media.
Two or less Posted November 30, 2010 Report Posted November 30, 2010 I could be wrong, but i don't think any Sabres player is on twitter. However, you could find several fake Darcy Regier accounts and Lindy Ruff's tie is on twitter.... lol
SabresFan526 Posted November 30, 2010 Report Posted November 30, 2010 Pretty sure Drew Stafford at one point in time had a twitter account. In fact, I used to follow him. But, it looks like he's no longer on twitter. I'm sure these guys have something. I know some of their wives/significant others have facebook pages. In fact, I know Martin Biron's wife has a facebook page that I'm pretty sure Marty checks up on. I think I've seen some other Sabre wives also on facebook as well. Interesting thread though.
korab rules Posted November 30, 2010 Report Posted November 30, 2010 It seems that Craig Rivet's wife monitors the site and chimes in to defend him whenever his reputation is besmirched.
shrader Posted November 30, 2010 Report Posted November 30, 2010 I wonder if it's just a culture of the game type thing where the NHL has a much lower rate of attention whores than the NFL.
wjag Posted November 30, 2010 Report Posted November 30, 2010 Personally, I think I would find it impossible to ignore if I was an athlete. It's not a lot different than reading their publicity in the newspaper or watching their highlight reel on ESPN. If nothing else, you could imagine the player's agents are reading the groups.

I believe Miller and Gaustad have a weekly podcast called 'All breads wheat flour based'.
Stoner Posted December 1, 2010 Author Report Posted December 1, 2010 I believe Miller and Gaustad have a weekly podcast called 'All breads wheat flour based'. I'm laughing -- I have no idea why -- but I;m laughing.
