The Buffalo Sabres released the following statement in an e-mail Tuesday afternoon: "Terry Pegula visited the Buffalo Sabres offices today for informal discussions. Neither the Sabres nor Mr. Pegula are available to comment on the visit."

The fact he was in the building, covering the details, is not a surprise. It appears the prospective owner of the team continues to do his due diligence.

Sources maintain the transaction will be completed near the end of the month, shortly after the All-Star Game in Raleigh on Jan. 30.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - When you're buying a house, you visit a few times to check out the roof, the basement, the windows and the size of the bedrooms. When you buy a hockey team, you visit to see the arena, the dressing rooms and meet the people who make it work. That's what Terry Pegula was doing in Buffalo on Tuesday. The Sabres confirmed that the team's prospective owner was in town for what they called "informal discussions." Sources tell News 4 Sports that the ownership transition and how it will work within the existing organization was among the main topics.

As of late Tuesday afternoon, Pegula had left the Arena. Although he has attended a number of games, its believed that he won't be in attendance for the contest against the Flyers.

All signs continue to point to a sale from Tom Golisano to the Pennsylvania billionaire, for a reported $175 million. It can be a long and involving process that factors in lawyers, financial reports and the NHL. The word is that any formal announcement of a deal is still weeks away.

I don't think there is a chance in Hell this gets announced today. Some people thought stealing thunder from a brutal game last night would have been bad? No way they announce it on the same day the Bisons have a huge press conference today at 2:30 about renovations....UNLESS....the two are tied together.....hmmmmmm

I havent heard anything more. Assuming its unlikely for today, i guess they were misinformed.

Sorry for confusion but usually this person is accurate.

Let me guess....one of the medical staff that you defended tooth 'n nail yet claimed to have no association with the Sabres?

Well....you're either lying now, or were lying here:

I...KNOW...NAHTING!!!

Re-read the post you think is incriminating. I have no connection to the team, ie-i don't work for them. i was fairly clear in that thread that i have a connection to medicine and was commenting on that, not with some insider information on the team.

On this topic I did, it wasn't correct. Flame away flamers. This is why when i do have info i never post it on this board, because sometimes it is wrong and then the keyboard cowboys are out in full force.

My apologies and i wont put stuff out there again.

That was before he also claimed to have superior legal knowledge, and knowledge of the inner working of NYS's Department opf Social Services as well - remember these gems?

Ive worked in family court, and ive worked with all kinds of people from the other side of the tracsk. i know what you are talking about.

Before they had candidates or their candidates had corporate backers they sprung up out of nowhere with nothing more in common than collective disgust for what they saw happening to our country.

It was not so long ago that the use of the term "grass roots" seems inappropriate.

Most tea party members don't understand the Constitution? Is that any different than any other party? That short document with only 26 amendments has spawned almost 250 years of jurisprudence, much of it with dissenting opinions from the nine wisest jurists in the nation. Who does understand the Constitution?

I for one do, but that's based on my background.

I wasn't thinking that. I do think korab is a porn star though.

Yes, you're brilliant, it's completely impossible to have a background in those areas isn't it;and it wouldn't explain where i get my info from either would it?

You know the FBI could use someone like yourself. http://www.fbijobs.gov/
