Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 That sounds before my time. And highly entertaining. I hope there is a link for this? Done I don't know how entertaining it is. In a time long, long ago...in a land far, far away....where many fans still took everything management said with 100% devotion...I just got sick of researching and having to defend myself when many wanted to refute anything I said. I was also warned privately by a moderator that my account would be banned if I continued to make negative remarks about verticaly challenged athletes. So I removed myself. Changed my name from Dwight Drane to Done and now the account is a memory.

Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 I once left the board for the same reason. I came back 10 minutes later. :D It is hard to go against the grain sometimes. I took a break because nothing constructive was being accomplished by my participation at the time. If you have a stalemate in thinking, there isn't much more to be said.

Sabre Dance Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 Darcy is already in negotiations with him for an extension. I think Darcy gets an "extension" every time he sees Timmy play...
spndnchz Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 I think Darcy gets an "extension" every time he sees Timmy play... He's def a stick handler?
Sabre Dance Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 He's def a stick handler? Well, we know Timmy can't be getting all those millions of $ just for playing hockey (unless it is the tonsil variety). A-Hem!
Fuzzy Fresh Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 Long time reader, 1st time poster... Sorry to step slightly off topic for a moment, however: I feel it is my civic duty to jump on board here and please ask the original poster, GoBillsInDallas, (or one of the moderators) if he/she/they could so kindly move the question mark in the title of this thread one space to the left. With the vast ongoing popularity of this thread and the potential of powerful people perusing it, this subtle (yet strangely jarring) typographical error has caused this rather important piece of punctuation to float out there all naked and alone for over a month; quite literally disconnected from the word 'sold' that it craves so desperately to be fully questioning. You may or may not even realize how this is directly or subliminally impacting your perception of this (hopefully) impending sale, but I put forth that the moving of said question mark into its correct location could very well have a calming and soothing affect that carries us right into the warm and loving embrace of our new glorious owner: His Majesty The Duke of Fracking, Terry Pegula. And yes, please: let this Pennsyltuckian Daddy War(Memorial)Bucks come rescue our rudderless ship! And with that, I will now fade back into the ether to continue the fun sport of studying SabreSpace from afar. Thanks so much and keep up the fascinating hyperbole!

Fuzzy Fresh Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 just having some fun... My use of 'please ask' is actually an acceptable form of politely asking for something: http://free-english-...t-requests.html But I obviously fully understand that playing grammar police as I did with my question mark movement request will always bring out the fine tooth grammatical comb in others. Truth be told, I apologize for posting in the 1st place, but I check SabreSpace daily for news and other info regarding my beloved Sabres, and finally today I just couldn't handle seeing that question mark floating out there in the subject line of this thread any longer. Sorry again! Pleaze--> fEEl fuh-ree 2 bash!!! my post apard! Thx!!!

Eleven Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 I thought you were leaving? I hope he/she stays. I mean it; I was being really (and deliberately) ridiculous with the punctuation stuff, just to have fun with it. Fuzzy writes well, and well, Fuzzy is Fresh (according to the description). Let's welcome her/him. C'mon, Fuzz, let's see some more. Out of the ether with you.

Two or less Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/columns/bucky-gleason/article299556.ece Pegula was at the winter classic.
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 A Steve Pigeon reference....love it. A Jason Botteril reference....spooky. Quinny's gonna loot that place clean. He'll be passing out SportsService napkins at the family BBQ in 2026.
Stoner Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 A Steve Pigeon reference....love it. A Jason Botteril reference....spooky. Quinny's gonna loot that place clean. He'll be passing out SportsService napkins at the family BBQ in 2026. Yeah, that was pretty rich when Bucky said the accuracy of the Channel 2 report couldn't be confirmed. Rich! Bucky had Pegula in NYC a couple of weeks ago meeting with league officials, then had to admit he was there to see a concert. The references to his sources being beer vendors must mean he was stung by the criticism. Bucky continues to make outlandish statements couched as facts, like Pegula being a "one of their (the Sabres') biggest fans." He admits he has never talked to Pegula. Pegula started off a fan of the Flyers. He knows Craig Patrick, golfed with Sidney and attended the Winter Classic (both involving the Pens). Is he also one of Flyers' and Penguins' biggest fans? Again, the "buzz" about a new GM making the decision on Ruff. Duh. No new owner is going to come in in February with a team out of the playoffs and fire a guy who's been there 13 years. Lindy will play out the string, and of course then it will be up to the new GM whether to pursue him. Finally we'll see how many offers Lindy gets on the open market.

Stoner Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 Was he actually revealing a source there? Someone else's maybe. Bucky is jealous and paranoid.
Stoner Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 The oddest suggestion in the column was that Darcy might be a good guy to head up the scouting department. Haven't his talent evaluating skills been on full display for years?
