Stoner Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 Amazing what happens when your first night in prison you're not dropping the soap and grabbing your ankles. Initiating is good! Leafs are on the bottom bunk in this one.
deluca67 Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 Whatever we think about their chances, that was one hell of a period. Two more like that. It was amazing to see how this team looks with a little agression added to their game.
Weave Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 It was amazing to see how this team looks with a little agression added to their game. I noticed the same last year. They played much better when they played with a chip on their shoulder. WTF can't they play that way regularly? Supposedly they have enough gritty players to do it.
biodork Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 Argh, WGR app, why do you taunt me so?
NowDoYouBelieve Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 Not a good second period so far. A few good chances for the Leafs, not very good puck possession on our part, and we've given them a couple power plays for no good reason.
ROC Sabres Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 It was amazing to see how this team looks with a little agression added to their game. Sooo once the league is one conference and Kaleta starts each game with a huge hit we can expect the cup! SWEET!
Weave Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 Weber HAS to stay in the lineup for awhile. He's been a wrecking ball out there.
kishoph Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 MILLER came up big in that period. Hopefully they have a repeat of the first period and not the second.

nobody Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 Football coaches often script the first 10 plays or something. Just sayin'... Play #1 - Expect to be on the PK after the first 30 seconds. Ideally due to the fact, as soon as possible, the team runs the opponents goalie.
Weave Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 Hard to believe it took until now to get their first shorty. Stick a fork in Toronto......
NowDoYouBelieve Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 Patches Kaleta! Now let' get Miller the shutout he's well-deserved.
NowDoYouBelieve Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 I don't get why the fates always seem to conspire to rob Miller of shutouts. He gets an anamolously few for a goaltender of his caliber.
Weave Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 LOL And then we give up a shorty. Probably doesn't matter at this point but it is so typical of this team.

As good as he is, he always does seem to let in a softie with a shutout on the line... of course tonight's was more Leopold's fault than his.
Weave Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 Great first period. Adequate 2nd and 3rd's. Miller looked good. Weber showed alot of grit. And bottom line, they beat a team they need to leapfrog if they want 8th place.

Stoner Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 Ditto on the Miller comments. Very sharp night.
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 Good first period lots of intensity, usual second sleeper and ok third. Miller made HUGE saves
SDS Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 I don't get why the fates always seem to conspire to rob Miller of shutouts. He gets an anamolously few for a goaltender of his caliber. I walked into the room and saw the score with a few minutes left and said, "I wonder how they'll blow the shoutout this time?". I swear to God 10 seconds later it was in the net.
thesportsbuff Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 The best part of today's win? Every other team in the division lost. careful man... you wouldn't want to imply that they have a chance to make playoffs or anything. :bag:
Marvelo Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 I'm not complaining but... Is it just me or has Miller lost more shut-outs in the last five minutes than pretty much any goalie in NHL history? Any stats on this? It's almost getting predictable.
bunomatic Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 careful man... you wouldn't want to imply that they have a chance to make playoffs or anything. :bag: Regardless , if they do make the playoffs do they have the type of team to go deep? Have they improved any from last years debacle against Boston? And is just sneaking into the playoffs and getting schooled and out is good enough for you? Whats wrong with shooting for the big prize? Should we not hope that we had a G.M. capable of going out and getting the pieces to actually compete for the cup or are these pieces enough? Just sayin...
