SwampD Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 That part was more about the movie Invincible. I shall include links with my pop culture references from now on. Did you catch the irony part at the end? I caught the irony. I got the Philly thing as well (by the way, ###### Philly) Do you like apples? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWTzyU5MFgM
Sterling Archer Posted November 23, 2010 Author Report Posted November 23, 2010 Try watching It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. It may change your opinion. Unless your opinion is that Philly is full of classless savages.

Robviously Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 Talk about how the mighty have fallen.. That show took a real nosedive this year. It started slow but the last few episodes have been great.
Sterling Archer Posted November 25, 2010 Author Report Posted November 25, 2010 It started slow but the last few episodes have been great. I try to drop a few references here and there but I didn't think anyone was getting them.
Marvelo Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 I was a Tim Kennedy fan. I saw him as a little guy from the Buffalo area and was hoping he'd be able to develop in to a pesky forward that would get under the skin of the other team. I could understand his struggles as a little guy from Buffalo. I saw him do some good things last year, hustling, working behind the net, shielding the puck with his body. I also saw him pushed off the puck a couple times and was referred to as "a boy vs. man" by the Atlanta announcer. So he shot himself in the foot by negotiating when he was barely holding on. He made a mistake and now he's back in the AHL being pushed around (by goalies). I can't gloat about his situation. I feel bad for this Buffalo guy. I like to see Buffalo guys make it, especially little guys. At no point did he seem as "Mighty." Kennedy is an underdog, pure and simple . I think there's no point to this thread and I hope it's closed soon because it's stupid.

inkman Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 Skip, FWIW, I'd take Kennedy on this team over at least half a dozen skaters. He should be here...oh well.
Sterling Archer Posted November 27, 2010 Author Report Posted November 27, 2010 I just don't get the "I feel bad for him" sentiment. The guy will make over $600k this year. I'll make $10k if I'm lucky. I'm supposed to feel bad for this guy. He tried to play hardball with management and lost. I mean, if I walk into my manager's office and demand a raise that they don't believe is fair, they tell me to shove it. Then you stick around or leave. The dude is making a ###### load of money to play a game and you feel sorry for him? He got his just desserts and now he has to deal and I'm eating it up. But feeling sorry for the guy is just............ :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:
Marvelo Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 I just don't see any point gloating over his struggles. He's an average player...why not attack these players with the real bloated contracts?
Sterling Archer Posted November 27, 2010 Author Report Posted November 27, 2010 I just don't see any point gloating over his struggles. He's an average player...why not attack these players with the real bloated contracts? Cuz they haven't got theirs yet. When that get theirs, I'll ###### on half a dozen biscuits and sling em around a best buy.
Marvelo Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 Cuz they haven't got theirs yet. When that get theirs, I'll ###### on half a dozen biscuits and sling em around a best buy. forget it.
Sterling Archer Posted November 27, 2010 Author Report Posted November 27, 2010 [skip krake] Wah Xander Crews is prick and laughs at other people's misfortune. He's a blight upon society. Wah [/skip krake]
TheChimp Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 Try watching It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. It may change your opinion. Unless your opinion is that Philly is full of classless savages. Two words: Mike Vick
Sterling Archer Posted November 28, 2010 Author Report Posted November 28, 2010 Two words: Mike Vick I love how some people in this country value the lives of animals over that of humans now.
Weave Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 I love how some people in this country value the lives of animals over that of humans now. You'll have to explain to me how your statement works with Michael Vick being brought up. Cuz I don't get it.
SwampD Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 You'll have to explain to me how your statement works with Michael Vick being brought up. Cuz I don't get it. I was thinking the same thing,.. although,.. if my house is burning down and I have to choose between Vick (who for some reason is in my house) and Xena (my 3.5 lb Yorkie) to save, I'm not hesitating for a second.
Sterling Archer Posted November 29, 2010 Author Report Posted November 29, 2010 You'll have to explain to me how your statement works with Michael Vick being brought up. Cuz I don't get it. Ray Lewis was connected to a homocide. PacMan Jones is continually involved with drugs, shoot outs, and all manner of debauchery. Tank Johnson got caught with a house full of guns and god knows what else. Marty McSorely caved the side of Donald Brashear's head in. Todd Bertuzzi nearly killed Moore. Dany Heatley killed what's his face while driving drunk. Uggy Urbina tried to butcher and burn 5 guys. You bring up these guys names and it garners little to no reactions. You bring up Mike Vick and it's "he killed the puppies." The guy has served his time. He's been a model citizen. I don't know whether you have noticed it but pets are slowly taking the place of children and being treated better than a lot of human beings and my soon enough have more rights than certain human beings. I think it's a joke.
TheChimp Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 I love how some people in this country value the lives of animals over that of humans now. What I love most are the people who think that you can only have emotional ties to, or feel the need to protect, one group or the other, like humans are somehow at war with the animal kingdom. People like that make me giggle at how stupid they are. Drool for me. Come on, you know you fight so hard not to. Just relax and let it slide from the corner of your mouth.

I think it's a joke. I don't think it's a joke. I think it's great that pets are taking the place of children. There are too many people anyway, and most of them are idiots. That said, Vick is doing exactly what is asked of him right now. I hope for his sake that he keeps it up.
Sterling Archer Posted November 29, 2010 Author Report Posted November 29, 2010 Dany Heatley wasn't drunk. If he didn't play for Ottawa, would people still say that? He was drunk. Don't buy everything they sell you.
Weave Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 Ray Lewis was connected to a homocide. PacMan Jones is continually involved with drugs, shoot outs, and all manner of debauchery. Blah, blah, blah, blah Holy overreaction Batman !!! Would it wash the sand out of your hoo-hah if I said all of the names you mentioned would be just as appropriate if the city being posted about was the city they played in? Cheez dude, it was a comment about Philly D-bags. Vick fit. Just sayin'...
Stoner Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 He was drunk. Don't buy everything they sell you. You have some kind of inside information? You think the authorities in Atlanta were really so impressed by some Canadia hoser hockey player for the Thrashers that they falsified an investigation? Heatley's blood alcohol level was less than .015, five or six times below the legal limit.
