Swedesessed Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 RIP Pat Burns...wishing that the NHL would have inducted you last year when you were still on Earth, but that did not happen...smooth move NHL  Anyway, the NHL would be a better place with more guys like Pat Burns around. RIP Pat.
bunomatic Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 rest in peace coach. I thought it was pretty humorous when he called TSN a while back and corrected them about jumping the gun on his demise by saying you're tryin to bury me and I haven't even died yet. He was a class act to the end and very dignified.
R_Dudley Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 RIP and best wishes to his family. This guy's teams played hard against us when he was coaching in our division and I always liked his firey style and outspoken ways. I wanted him for Bflo's coach back in the day. Last this probably belongs in the Lindy thread but PA here is some more fuel for the Lindy Bonfire Burns knew he wouldn't coach the Leafs forever. "I think after you're four or five years in the same town, even if you have a lot of success, and I had a lot of success in Montreal, I think it’s time to move on — unless you win the Stanley Cup every year," he told Irvin. Hard to disagree with someone who has been their done that, glad he got his SC.
beerme1 Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 An interesting man was Pat Burns. will be deeply missed by many. Interesting career change from cop to coach. RIP Pat.
bunomatic Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 The only coach to win the Jack Adams with 3 different teams, all original 6 teams. Outstanding.
spndnchz Posted November 30, 2010 Report Posted November 30, 2010 So, at his funeral yesterday, his wife's car gets broken into. She had at least 30 signed jerseys and other Burns memorabilia to be auctioned off for Pat Burn's foundation, all stolen. WTF?

It's reasons like this that I support a fully operational Guantanamo Bay facility.
