Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Alright....that was fun.
darksabre Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Was anyone else hoping Vanek would never have to leave the ice? That overtime period was some of the best individual efforts I've seen from this team in a long time.
Realist Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 That was the most exciting OT during the regular season I have ever seen.
mrjsbu96 Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 that was one of the best 5 minutes of hockey i have seen in a while!!
TheMatrix31 Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 That was fantastic! The crowd seemed to be rockin' like crazy, didn't it? My feed was crappy and crackly. Myers, BOOM!
Calvin Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 way to redeem yourself Thing1.. wow!! fantastic composure there with so much on the line, good job kiddo!
thesportsbuff Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 That was sick. I bet PA never watches a standard def game again
North Buffalo Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Wow! Both teams decided to skate including Vanek... Noice, but really why wait til overtime to turn it up...
Calvin Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 I am going to call a Sabres win in OT tonight. I see a blue-liner scoring with Vanek getting the primary assist. you called it DeLuca, not sure who got the assists on the winner!
Eleven Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Was anyone else hoping Vanek would never have to leave the ice? That overtime period was some of the best individual efforts I've seen from this team in a long time. It was a great effort, but it's only the best individual effort I've seen from Vanek since Saturday.
Calvin Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 those last three minutes were fantastic hockey! great advertisement there for the sport
deluca67 Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 you called it DeLuca, not sure who got the assists on the winner! No assist on the winner. Vanek did take out the last Canuck defender that had a chance at the puck.
Knightrider Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 OK, I've been really busy at work the last month, and haven't seen a game in a long time... but holy #$% that was awesome!
NowDoYouBelieve Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 The Bad: We can't seem to close out teams in regulation like last season. The GOOD: 9 out of our 10 last points. 4 out of 4 points against two serious Stanley Cup contenders. Vanek didn't score tonight, but he played his best game of the season. By a lot.
Calvin Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 No assist on the winner. Vanek did take out the last Canuck defender that had a chance at the puck. in my book that counts as a primary assist!
bob_sauve28 Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Wish we could play them more Wish we could play on Mondays more I'm really impressed with our defense. Guess it took time to get the new guys into the mix. So happy for Myers!!

deluca67 Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Vanek's play completely changes the dynamic of the team. His recent play has not been just great it's been dominate. As much I was not a big fan of Briere I will say Vanek play with the puck is Briere like. Briere's strong suit wasn't that he wanted the puck. He went and got the puck and did things with it. Vanek isn't standing around looking for the puck. He is fighting for it and skating like he has a demon in his arce.

Calvin Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 kudos to the defensive unit.. they have really stepped it up on the offensive front. i'm really hoping that they learn the defensive solidity bit now, that will set us up as a really good counterattacking unit. Myers looked rough in patches, but redeemed himself in the end. Sekera looks like he is getting better at handling the puck in traffic, but is still overhandling. Montador and Morrison were both good today, they really brought the muscle in the back today. Butler is best when you don't hear about him all game long, like a good o-lineman in football. finally i thought Leopold had a good game today, doesn't seem like he has been afflicted by the unable-to-clear-zone curse yet! did you hear that stat saying the Sabres D has 25% of the goals being scored? they are doing a really good job of covering up the offensive woes and poor PP play.. one or two impactful trades in the Top 6 and we might see some shades of that '05-'06 run-n-gun team again good game boys, tough schedule coming up.. when they bring the energy they are showing they can keep up with the best in the league, the real challenge is maintaining that over a stretch.
Realist Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 I do wish Buffalo had a power play half as impressive as Vancouver's.
