phildathrill83 Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 is it just me, or does it seem like Chris Butler has scored more goals ON his own team than FOR his own team. he's like a magnet for pucks deflecting off him and into our own net
Weave Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 He's inherited Richard Shmelik's old position.
X. Benedict Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 Gotta give him this much: that pass didn't get through.
Two or less Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 It was a fluke goal. I thought Butler has been pretty solid for the Sabres whenever he's played. I have liked Sekera's game a lot as well, but Butler is coming around i think and what he needs most right now is ice time. I think it will be very difficult for Lindy Ruff to bring back Criag Rivet if the team keeps winning without him. The Sabres have 5 wins, and Butler has played in three of them. Rivet also has played in three wins, but, the Toronto game he was long gone before Jochen Hecht tied it to take it to over-time. Ruff benches guys for struggling, but, Rivet has been a real problem so far this season. It's gonna be a tough call. But maybe it needs to be made. Washington had a similar problem few years ago with Chris Clark who was a captain, and he played poorly and they wanted Ovie to get the C, the said the only option was to trade Clark and they traded him to Columbus. Maybe Sabres need to take the hit and take whatever in return just to unload Rivet, give the C to someone else and play Butler full time?
Stoner Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 And he looks like a young Walter Matthau.

Except the Sabres don't have that option - Who wants a washed-up d-man, at 3.3 mill. a year?
BuffaTB Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=73269 Can't be much worse than Butler...

Stoner Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010  he looks a little like the Political Science professor in Fail-Safe. This is always fun. How about Dino Ciccarelli and Gary Sinise? That's freaky!
